We have stayed in Killead Lodge Guest House just for one night during our trip to Belfast. Although we arrived much earlier than expected, the owners were ready to make us welcome. Everything there made us feel good: a pretty, cosy, well equiped room, biscuits on arrival, fresh flowers in a vase, extremely soft carpets.. and above all - warm, friendly and helpful owners.
In the morning we had a fantastic breakfast and got some extra fruit and scones to take.
Gentlemen, be prepared to buy some home made jewellery for your ladies, they are going to love it!
And don't worry about the proximity of the international airport, Killead Lodge really is a very quiet place.
We simply loved it and can recommend it to everyone.

Ray and his wife were superb hosts for our family. He directed us to grocery shopping in Antrim and the Antrim Park complex for lunch. Ray and his wife also informed us about the Loughshore Park and provided a huge bag of bread, toast, etc to feed the ducks and geese. An extra special touch was "instant banana ice cream" prepared as a snack during our DVD movie. Great place. Would stay again.

I spent one night at Killead Lodge while travelling on business. The owners gave me a free lift from and to the nearby airport (Belfast International). When I arrived, they provided a wonderful evening meal at short notice (not just defrosted convenience food, either, but an excellent home-cooked meal). The cooked breakfast the next morning was also excellent. The guest house is in superb decorative condition, with a nice deep-pile carpet in my bedroom, and thoroughly clean. I discovered there was even free wi-fi broadband in the bedroom! The owners are friendly and welcoming, and ready to go the extra mile to help their guests.

I noticed a new guest house being built just across the road: apparently it's part of a chain of small cheap hotels. No doubt it will be perfectly adequate for a one-night stay next to the airport. But Killead Lodge has something that a soul-less chain hotel can never offer: that personal touch which makes all the difference. Thoroughly recommended!

Killead Lodge Guest House is just outside of Belfast and meer minutes to the Airport. We were traveling as a family of 6 - my husband & I, my in-laws and our teenage son & daughter. From the moment we arrived and Ray and Hilary had a van pick us up at the airport we felt spoiled. They gave us a warm welcome to their bright, clean home. Fabulous, large, inviting guest rooms. Cosy living room, perfect to snuggle up with a book after exploring all day and really great meals served with grace and warmth. When Ray found out where we were heading he got on the internet and printed out a map for us to follow. Hilary and Ray are wonderful hosts. We would most definitly stay here again.
