I travel to Belfast regularly on business and have tried a number of different accommodations, including Maddisons (ok) Tara Lodge (very nice) Sommerton House (give it a miss) and Benedicts (nice) However Killead Lodge is by far the best (and cheapest) of them all.
The accommodation itself is first class. Spacious modern rooms which have soft furnishings, a very comfy bed and is immaculately clean. As well as en-suite shower rooms there is a large bathroom so guests can have a bath if they feel like it. There's also a lovely sitting room with TV, games, books and maps.
The breakfasts are scrumptious, with freshly squeezed orange juice (and I mean freshly squeezed!) and fresh fruit salad, as well as a range of options for brekkie.
The location is not ideal if you want to walk to the pubs and clubs but it's only a 20 minute drive to Belfast centre, and even though it's next to the airport, I never hear the planes and feel as if I'm out in the country.
But the thing that sets Killead Lodge apart from all the others is all the small touches that Hillary & Ray add to your stay. Breakfast is served at a time that suits you, not the owners. Delicious evening meals can be prepared if required. I always like fresh milk when I'm drinking tea, and when Hillary noticed I had bought some milk for my room, she put a flask of fresh milk in my room each day. All of the other places I've stayed could learn valuable lessons from Killead Lodge (especially Sommerton House B&B!)
and I would highly recommend it.
