Must have a fabulous past life, with the river Tay running by,birds, rabbits, spring flowers and great trees.
However it now needs management, money, makeover, and trained manpower.
From booking to paying our bill I think we only met one native english speaker. One of the breakfast waiters at least was learning basics on the job.Their well regarded chef left them last year.We did not take dinner, but breakfast was rough, slow and ordinary.
As usual on a Saturday a wedding reception was taking priority, no we could not eat lunch, use room service. No menu in the room, and a five pound service charge later,a lot later,we had a good sandwich and flask of soup.
The riverside annex is behind the staff quarters, and looks drab but the room was pleasant, with a back door facing the river and a small patio. However as mentioned by others noise from the room above is bad. This block is only seven years old, blame the builder?
The riverside walk to the main house can be pleasant, weather permitting.
Sad the hotel has lost its charm and style.
