“Happy times at the Harding Hotel”

Harding Hotel

May 10, 2008

My wife and I just returned from our 5 week honeymoon of Western Europe...We stayed 2 nites at the Harding Hotel in Publin...er I mean Dublin.

We booked the hotel through www.orbitz.com, as this presented the best rate, for a total of $240 U.S. (all taxes in)...Which is a bargain for Dublin

It was a great location...Not too close to the Temple Bar...But then again...Not too far either...Everything was within walking distance to this hotel...The River Liffey, is just one block to the North of the Hotel...

I found this hotel to be somewhat of a bargain as EVERYTHING in Dublin is expensive...We felt we got the best bang for our buck staying here at this hotel...

Breakfast was included with our stay and was held in a little cafe attached to the hotel...As well, there is also a pub that is connected the hotel, where you can catch some traditional Irish Music if you're lucky....

In the lobby, off to the side is a plaque, with a tidbit of history about the building...You'd be surprised what the Hotel used to be...hehehehe

We enjoyed our time in Dublin...If you enjoy Traditional Irish Music be sure to check out this pub in the Temple Bar District- Oliver St. John Gogarty's...Great times...

Cheers!

“Fantastic value for money”

Harding Hotel

5 of 5 stars
Wirral, United Kingdom
May 2, 2008

This hotel is fantastic value for money. We had a large triple room with 3 comfortable beds. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms where clean and quiet, which sometimes can be a problem in Dublin. Location is fantastic in Temple Bar. Couldn't fault the hotel and would definitely return. I was suprised by the 2 star rating as I think the hotel deserves more than this.

“Service and Fantastic Location!”

Harding Hotel

Apr 20, 2008

Just returned from four nights at the Harding. Was delighted with the location. Found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful with directions and recommendations.

I booked a double - ended with a triple. Nice large room, basic functional furniture. Enjoyed the in room refrigerator and pants press. Hair dryer is located in the desk - only downside is that there's no mirror above the desk. Bed is nicely comfortable and the linens and towels were nice. Be sure to bring a travel clock as there wasn't one in the room. I also found the room was a bit on the warm side but an open window took care of that issue. Did get noise from outside, but as I always travel with ear plugs it wasn't a problem. Friday night did have sound coming up from the bar - but the ear plugs took care of it just fine. The other nights were really quiet.

Perfect for walking to all the sights. If going to Kilmanheim Gaol you may want to take a bus as it's quite a walk. Everything else was easily accessable by foot.

I would definitely stay here again as the location was wonderful, rooms comfortable and the price was just right.

“I loved the Harding”

Harding Hotel

5 of 5 stars
New Jersey, USA
Apr 10, 2008

I was very happy with my stay at the Harding.

I was in Dublin for two nights and was looking for a discount hotel, as I was traveling alone. I arrived at the Harding a bit early, but there was a locked luggage storage room, and my room was ready about noon.

The facilities of the hotel are very comfortable. My bed was great, the shower water pressure was very strong, and the water very hot. It is a very comfortable hotel! The location is great - just a short walk from Temple Bar, but far enough away that you don't have the crowds outside your window. From the airport - City Bus 748 stops just a couple of blocks away (Woods Quay stop - keep walking in the direction of the bus to the next intersection, which is Fishamble).

The hotel offers free wifi, which is quite a nice thing in this part of the world. The connection in my room was quite strong and I could use Skype effectively.

My rate included a full Irish breakfast in the cafe next door - service is 7:30-12:00 so it is available late in the morning (but perhaps not early enough if you have to catch a morning flight).

I did notice some music in the hotel pub in the evenings as I walked out - my room on the 3rd floor was high enough so that I did not hear it in my room. But I would be a bit cautious about rooms on the low floors.

Overall, I was quite delighted with my stay at the Harding - I really believe it is at least a three-star property, and I will certainly be staying there again.

“Great weekend away for the Mums of Potters Bar, Herts!”

Harding Hotel

4 of 5 stars
Potters Bar, Herts
Apr 6, 2008

The hotel was more like a 3* accomadation. Fantastic facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Location excellent for Temple Bar( drinks expensive!), 5-10 mins walk to local town centre/tourist information centre(cheap deals for tours). Plenty of historical place to visit and shops for the ladies! Recommend local open-air tour bus, good value.
Downside hotel pub, live Irish bands were a bit anti-British with some of their songs, shame.
Overall would recommend, take plenty of money!!!
