“Great Central Dublin Location”

We were pleased to discover how centrally this hotel was located, allowing us to walk to many of the Dublin area museums, churches, parks, and the Temple Bar area. The room was European-style (compact and efficient) and a king-size bed was a bonus we didn't expect. There were two downsides: the bathroom lacked a shelf or table for toiletries (minor inconvenience) and the location directly across the street from Christchurch Cathedral provided us with a quarterly reminder of the time with the pealing of its bells all day and night. If you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs! Our package included a full Irish breakfast in the hotel's cafe. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was very clean.

“Wonderful Value”

Harding Hotel

I had already booked at a B&B in Dublin when I chanced upon this hotel, and decided to change our booking. I am so glad I did. You really can't get more centrally-located than this hotel - it is directly opposite Christchurch Cathedral and only minutes away from Temple Bar.

I had booked 2 twin rooms for us and we got 2 triples. The rooms were a really good size too, by European standards. Good mattresses. The pillows could have been a bit fluffier and softer, but that is probably just personal taste. Small refrigerator under the TV, trouser press, hair-dryer in desk. The bathroom was very basic and, as someone who wears glasses, I would have appreciated a small shelf to put them on when washing my face or showering, or to put some of my cosmetics.

The people at Reception were always helpful, and the young man from Turkey was especially nice.

The hot breakfast was substantial and kept you going for a good part of the day. A little more choice, especiallly with the cold buffet/Continental, would have been nice.

At 40 euro a head (what we paid), I cannot fault this hotel. It is much nicer than you think you're going to get and I highly urge you to book!

“Noisey Street Side”

Harding Hotel

May 11, 2008

This hotel is great for location with short walks to Temple Bar,Dublin Castle, and the National Museums. It is not a modern hotel.

We stayed two nights in April away from the street noise and experienced no problems.

We did not sleep when we returned two weeks later. The street noise from the pub was loud, the Christ Church bells rang every hour, and construction began at 5 in the mornling.

The day staff was helpful, but the night staff seemed depressed.

“Happy times at the Harding Hotel”

Harding Hotel

May 10, 2008

My wife and I just returned from our 5 week honeymoon of Western Europe...We stayed 2 nites at the Harding Hotel in Publin...er I mean Dublin.

We booked the hotel through www.orbitz.com, as this presented the best rate, for a total of $240 U.S. (all taxes in)...Which is a bargain for Dublin

It was a great location...Not too close to the Temple Bar...But then again...Not too far either...Everything was within walking distance to this hotel...The River Liffey, is just one block to the North of the Hotel...

I found this hotel to be somewhat of a bargain as EVERYTHING in Dublin is expensive...We felt we got the best bang for our buck staying here at this hotel...

Breakfast was included with our stay and was held in a little cafe attached to the hotel...As well, there is also a pub that is connected the hotel, where you can catch some traditional Irish Music if you're lucky....

In the lobby, off to the side is a plaque, with a tidbit of history about the building...You'd be surprised what the Hotel used to be...hehehehe

We enjoyed our time in Dublin...If you enjoy Traditional Irish Music be sure to check out this pub in the Temple Bar District- Oliver St. John Gogarty's...Great times...

Cheers!

“Fantastic value for money”

Harding Hotel

5 of 5 stars
Wirral, United Kingdom
May 2, 2008

This hotel is fantastic value for money. We had a large triple room with 3 comfortable beds. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms where clean and quiet, which sometimes can be a problem in Dublin. Location is fantastic in Temple Bar. Couldn't fault the hotel and would definitely return. I was suprised by the 2 star rating as I think the hotel deserves more than this.
