I stayed there for 1 night in Aug 05, and was glad it was for just 1 night. Think the City of London at the weekend; empty because it's the weekend and the business types aren't there.
Don't get me wrong, it's a modern, clean hotel. But there's no character at all, and for £115 a night, there are much better deals to be had in Dublin.
It's in the financial quarter, and is a good 15 minute walk from O'Connell Street and anywhere where people are; ie it's pretty remote. But if you're company is putting you up there while you do business in the IFSC, then it's fine.
For some reason it was really noisy outside, with lorry engines on all the time.
I had a long chat with the duty manager while I waited for a cab (no buses go here) and he shared my view that it was essentially a pretty dull place with nothing going on, but also that it's meant for high flying business people for the offices next door, not tourists.
Overall: it's so far out the city centre that it's a real chore to get anywhere. It's nice enought, but sterile. Next time I goto Dublin i'll opt for something closer to the action, and with a bit more character.
