“Satisfactory for price paid”

Jurys Inn Custom House

Rome, Italy

Stayed here on a few occasions. Jurys Inn's are quiet predictable in my opinion and share similar standards which is always a good thing.

Hotel is situated fairly near the Point Theatre but is a bit away from town centre - a short taxi ride but not ideal for walking at night.

“Satisfactory”

Jurys Inn Custom House

Rooms were clean and hotel staff was accomodating. The hotel is right on the River Liffey and near a Luas stop, which is good. We did a TON of walking from the hotel, so if I were to go again, I'd try to find a hotel a little bit closer to the Temple Bar and O'Connell Street, but overall, the hotel worked just fine for a place to sleep and shower.

“Good location, but a bit basic”

Jurys Inn Custom House

3 of 5 stars
London, England
Feb 10, 2008

I frequently stayed at the Holiday Inn in Dublin until witnessing the manager get into a fist-fight with a guest.... which was when I tried the Jurys Inn. As a frequest guest it is a bit annoying that they don't keep my room preferences/frequent guest card on file, but this isn't a major issue and won't bother the traveller staying on a one-off basis.

The rooms are basic but adequate, which is more than can be said for the towels which are minature. Also, as a business traveller, it would be nice to have an ironing board in the bedroom rather than having to go to an ironing room. However, the beds are comfortable and the views over the river are good. I haven't encountered the noise problems that some others have mentioned, but I have yet to stay in the height of summer when I would need the window open.

The bar/restaurant is OK, but there have been a couple of occassions when my stay co-incided with a sporting event and it has got a bit rowdy with broken glasses not getting cleared up (maybe they didn't quite get the staffing levels right on these nights?).

All in all a good location, but if it wasn't as handy to the office I would probably try somewhere else.

“Aint That Bad!”

Jurys Inn Custom House

Having read the reviews of this hotel, I was a little unsure of what to expect. There were stories about horrendous noise levels and poor rooms. I guess being there over the New Year may not have been the busiest time traffic wise, but I certainly couldn't complain. The hotel was spotless and the staff were very helpful. The restaurant was great and the food was spot on also. We had a dreaded front room, but I can't say the traffic noise level kept me awake. The room we had was huge and more than accommodated my wife and I. The walls in the rooms were pretty thin and I guess business people may get a little peeved, if they are trying to get a good nights rest. Overall I thought the hotel was well worth the money.

“Basic but ok”

I stayed here for the first two days and my last day in Dublin. The first two days I had a riverfront room. The room was basic, nothing special but clean. I did not have a problem with noise, I just kept the window shut and heard nothing. The last day I got a room with two double beds and a single and I was on my own, so that was cool. The location is nice, about 10 minutes or less from the middle of it all, easy walk to Temple Bar area. The River Liffey is nice, has the Famine statues which are amazing! and some bridges to cross over. Nice view.
