I stayed in this hotel in January and I did not have an enjoyable experience. The hotel looks very nice and it is spotless but the staff are not very friendly. I was not made to feel welcomed by them and any problems that I had they seemed unwilling to help. The price of the hotel was relatively cheap but that was probably the only good thing. The breakfast room was very cramped and the staff were rude. The hotel is not well located and i would advise against staying here if you do not have a car.

This hotel was fab, once we found it but this was only due to the crazy road works that were going on at the time. The staff was great and the food fantastic. Not one thing could we fault it by.

We hired a car but if you want to see Dublin you have to do this, its so cheap to do so. But the Lumas were only a throw stone away from the hotel but with the road works going on it took longer to get across to the station. Well worth the cheapness way to travel into the heart of Dublin.

The hotel was clean and modern and very secure. The lift will only take you to the floor you need to go on, saves getting lost on the wrong floor, drink and ice machines at the top of the stairs just what you need before heading out.

Mnay nice pubs and an amazing Chinesse all in walking distance from the hotel. I would def go back, excellent.

“Disappointed!”

We checked into this hotel for 2 nights over the Easter weekend while we were having building work done in our house.

We live in Dublin and so the location was not an issue for us and it is a lovely contempary hotel with very resonable rates.

We had no issue on our first night but when we came back on the second night our key card did not work and we had to walk back down to reception to have it re-programmed which was done very quickly.

That wasn't a problem until when we got into the room all our personal affects were removed from the room. When we contacted reception we were told that housekeeping were gone for the evening so there was no way to check if our belongings were in their office.

It was clear that housekeeping thought the room was only booked for 1 night and We were not too worried about this assuming that it would be sorted out the next morning when we checked out.

We told the receptionist our story who phoned housekeeping and after waiting for some considerable time a girl arrived who had no idea what we were talking about arrived . She had very little English which meant she didn't understand what we were talking about.

We didn’t have luggage as we were only using the hotel to sleep in but we did expect to leave the hotel with the personnel items we checked in with.

This has never happen in all the times I have stayed in hotels and could have been easliy resolved if anyone in the hotel cared enough to recify the situation.
Maybe this was a one off but some acknowledgement from the hotel would have been nice but alas was never received.

As other posters have mentioned the location of the hotel can be an issue if you are not familar with Dublin. The hotel is on the Naas Road near the Red Cow roundabout which is undergoing serious road works at the moment and it is one of the busiest traffic junctions in the country.

Access to the city centre using public transport is quicker using the LUAS which stops on the opposite side of the Nass Road but this does run very frequently and will leave you very convieiently just off O'Connel if you are visiting the city tourist points.

The hotel did have notices at reception about a shuttle bus from the hotel to the LUAS for guests. Just keep an eye on your personnel affects!!

“Lovely hotel, location not as bad as others say!”

Louis Fitzgerald Hotel

Mar 21, 2008

We have just arrived back from a great stay in Dublin. After reading other reviews on this site, we were a little worried about the location. To be honest we found it easy to find due to the great transport links in and out of the city centre.

The Airlink bus (10 euros return) dropped us off in the city centre from the airport and the tram stops were very easy to find. We knew where to get off the tram (Red Cow) and the walk was only 15 mins to get to the hotel.

It looks at bit scary when you first get off the tram at Red Cow because of all the road works but as long as you follow the way the cars leave the car park and get over the footbridge you'll be fine.

We used the Luas everytime we went into and out of the centre, even in the evenings and never found a problem with it. It was much cheaper than getting a taxi (2 euros a trip).

The hotel was lovely. The room was very clean and serviced every day. We never ate at the hotel or the resturant next door as we found it easy enough to just get into the centre.

It was worth going on the hop on hop off city bus tour to get to all the sights and the tour guides are very funny! The Guinness store house was a great tour with a lovely pint of the black stuff at the end!

It is a small city and you can walk through all the city areas very easily. We found great resturants around temple bar and grafton street.

Overall Dublin is a great place to visit!
