“Worth a visit”

Randles Court Hotel

Jul 14, 2008

We came over for our first trip to Killarney and chose the Randles after reading very positive reviews on TripAdviser. The hotel was lovely - very oldy worldy, with wonderful fireplaces and spacious lounges. Breakfast was superb with an excellent selection available. The staff were fantastic, and were very helpful. My daughter was a daily user of the pool, and on getting to the pool one day her goggles snapped - the girl at the Spa very kindly let her borrow her own set, which was certainly over and above the call of duty! Little touches like this made all the difference. The only slight problem we had was with our room - which had no view at all which was a pity - and the smell of cigarette smoke which came into the room at various times. We think this must have been coming from the vents, however do not know for sure, and it was certainly worse at certain times of the day i.e. morning and evening. Overall, a nice hotel with friendly staff in an excellent location.

Randles Court Hotel

I had the good fortune to stay with some colleagues for nearly 3 months, March through to end of May. The real test of any hotel is when the stay there is through work, Randles passed all tests on all counts!
The proprietors and staff were always on hand to attend to all our needs. The bedrooms are luxurious and everything works, which isnt always the case at hotels. The free Wi Fi througout, including the bedrooms is a valued extra.
The decor from the minute you walk through the door just induces
a relaxed feeling thats makes you never want to leave.
A great treat in the evenings was to sit at the front of the hotel and watch the forever changing vista of the mountains beyond, there were times when we felt we could touch them.
Meals were always prompt, properly cooked and well presented.
The memories of our stay there will be long lasting in the most positive way. If your reading this, trying to decide on a hotel in Kerry, treat yourself to a stay at Randles!
Thanks to the family and all the staff for a wonderful 3 months!

Stayed here for 2 nights mid week and was beautiful, excellent value for money and breakfast was ample. Old style hotel with lovely spacious bedroom and bathrooms with seperate shower. Staff were very helpful. Only a short stroll into town with a wide choice of restaurants

“Cosy and friendly”

Randles Court Hotel

4 of 5 stars
East Sussex, England
May 15, 2008

We stayed at Randle's Court for 5 nights for the main purpose of going to the Killarney racing festival. This hotel is ideally situated for this as the race course is literally just down the road. It is an easy walk but we decided to be lazy and take the car - there is plenty of parking but best to get there a bit before the first race to get the pick of the spots. The hotel itself is traditional in style with an elegant old-fashioned drawing room feel. The main areas are well maintained with lots of comfy places to sit and a pleasant terrace and gardens at the front. Our room was comfortable and spacious but could have done with an update - decor and furnishings definitely past their best. Electricals were a bit dicey - had to wiggle the wire to get the lamp to light but expect it was safe enough! Our room was at the side of the hotel and we experienced some noise from the car park and some strange noises from the services too, though we were not overly disturbed by them. Breakfast was really good and plentiful though restaurant staff seemed a bit dozy at times and kept coming back to ask us if we had ordered. We only had one dinner there which was OK but nothing special considering the high price (but then everything in Ireland is expensive). We found the main restaurant dark and gloomy despite the chandeliers. OK for the evening but could do with some natural light at breakfast! The best thing about this hotel is the fantastic location for sightseeing. It is right on the Ring of Kerry and well placed to visit other lovely places like the Dingle Peninsula and the Bearra Peninsula. Killarney town is charming and unspoilt with loads of great pubs and eating places and if you don't want to hire a car there are still lots of beautiful parks and lakes within walking distance. Touristy things, like the famous jaunting cart trips, are very expensive so make sure you ask the price first. We didn't use the pool or go in the spa.
