Our experience was sub-par in every way. First, the reception staff were unprepared and seemed confused. It took a while to find someone to check us in. Then the hallways were so dark we couldn't find our room - and when we asked they said they forgot to turn the lights on.

The beds were very uncomfortable - felt like a box spring with no mattress. Only by piling up all the blankets and lying on that could I manage to sleep.

There was a lot of mold on the bathroom ceiling, and the toilet seat was broken.

The food was pretty bad in the restaurant. The dining room was mostly set up for busloads of tourists, which appeared to be nearly all of their business, which are folks who don't have a choice since it's part of a package.

There was a hum all night long, some machinery sounds, that also interfered with a good's night sleep.

No non-smoking rooms availabe so the room stank. Pretty quiet location well out of town. We dropped off launday for same day service and they had to mail it to us 3 days later in Dublin since they forgot to do it, then had the gall to try and charge us for the mailing service!

The hotel was very clean, with excellent facilities and the rooms spacious and comfortable. It looked recently decorated and really fresh.

It was only a short drive from Cork airport and easy to find. The views from the hotel were glorious and it was ideally situated for travelling in the surrounding area. It was easy to get to the Ring of Kerry and Dingle Peninsular.

The staff were very friendly, would share a laugh with you and could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable. The restaurant and bar had great service, and were child friendly. You were not made to feel uncomfortable by having children there, but at the same time there were not loads of children running riot and spoiling it for everyone else. The food was superb, and mostly local produce-very tasty- and the atmosphere was excellent. The only downside was that we could not stay longer!!!
