“Excellent hotel”

Killarney Plaza Hotel and Spa

Mar 21, 2008

Excellent hotel, lovely staff.
Stayed for St Patricks weekend, even though the hotel was busy, there was great service.
Rooms spacious and really clean. Had dinner as part of package and the food was excellent.
Great base, close to all shops, restaurants, cinema and pubs.
Swimming pool and gym were great, wish I tried the Molton Brown Spa.
Will be back!

“My favourite Hotel in Killarney”

Killarney Plaza Hotel and Spa

Feb 12, 2008

The best advice I can give to anyone reading this review and thinking of visitng the Killarney Plaza. Book it now. !!I have just returned from my second visit to this hotel. I just loved it. We were only here one night this time unfortunately on the way back from another place. Would loved to have stayed longer.

We stayed in room 401, a suite on the fourth floor, overlooking the national park. It was just beautiful and the huge bed can only be described as heaven. You just sink into it.Decor was only lovely, and very quiet. We had an excellent nights sleep.

The hotel is very nice all round. The restaurants and bars are really lovely and upstairs gallery and foyer are beautiful. We only ate breakfast here this time. It was good, nice selection but pity they do not cook the irish breakfast to order instead of precooked. This is the only thing that leaves this standard of hotel down. Most four star hotels and even three star I have stayed in, in Killarney all cook the irish breakfast to order so it is fresh.
Precooked rashers and eggs are not nice. And if someone could advise the chefs there that the breakfast pudding is not good. Try changing to Clonakilty pudding, much better.!!''Sausages were lovely though but please cook to order and try not to pre cook the toast, it is always cold. That is my only fault with this hotel but easily rectified.

That said, I can't wait to return to the Killarney Plaza as it is just a wonderful hotel and right in the town but still quiet. Try to get an executive room on a high floor if you can, or a suite if you can afford it as they are just beautiful. This hotel is top of my list and is good value. A 4.5 star in my opinion.

“Really nice Hotel”

Killarney Plaza Hotel and Spa

Feb 11, 2008

Just returned from a w/end at the plaza - beautiful hotel.
We were upgraded to an executive room as I had enquired before I booked how much extra it was and the really friendly receptionist said she would put me down for a comp executive room if there was one available on check in - there was and it was out of this world could not believe it got on the phone straight away to tell family about it my boyfriend said he could only compare it to a room he had in the ritz tokyo!!
The staff were the friendliest I ever encountered in a hotel usually somewhere in the hotel you may be let down whether reception , leisure centre or restaurant but honestly everyone here were on happy trips and so pleasant!
The swimming pool was small and a depth of just under 4 metres but was so relaxing and looks just like in the photo because of the lighting - darkish creating a lovely atmosphere - the amount of marble all over this hotel creates the plushness and for me gives it its four stars the decor is lovely.
Didnt use the spa but would have loved to didnt really have the time.
My only quibble was my meal in the restaurant (we were on the wend 2BB & ID).... being a vegetarian the ONLY option out of a dense menu list was one main which consisted of penne pasta in garlic butter ... I couldnt believe it I would get more choice in a run down cafe so I asked the waiter if maybe there was something else or another choice and he came back saying the chef could make a veg curry ... no thanks so I made do with a bowl of penne but even the side veg werent great ...anyway it was the only downfall everything else was great and the brekkie next morning made up for it so all in all great hotel great staff great food if your not vegetarian ... maybe change the menu to cater for us poor veggies!

“Wow great stay at the Killarney Plaza”

Killarney Plaza Hotel and Spa

We stayed two nights in the Killarney Plaza and had a great time. The hotel is excellent and is in a great location.

During the day we toured the Ring of Kerry and then came back to the hotel for a great dinner and a few drinks in the piano bar. Then we went out and had a nice walk around town to cap off the night.

The rooms were nice and the staff were friendly. What more can you ask for?

I highly recommend staying here when you visit Killarney and we'd definitely stay here again.

“One of my favorite places in Ireland”

Killarney Plaza Hotel and Spa

5 of 5 stars
Chicago, IL
Dec 16, 2007

My husband and I visited for one night in early November 2007and had a fabulous stay. Yes, it is not the cheapest place to stay in Killarney but both of us love spas, and the Molton Brown Spa is not to be missed! I would definitely stay here again.
