I felt like I had to post a review of the Imperial after staying there for three nights and after reading the terrible reviews on Trip Advisor. I almost made a huge mistake and canceled the reservations I had made for our group of 8, traveling for golf this month. I read the reviews and even went so far as to drive out of my way to see the hotel and inspect it to make sure it wasn't some sort of disaster. It wasn't. In fact, our group had a great time at the Imperial and didn't have any complaints. We had five rooms and all the rooms were clean and well kept. The bathrooms are all updated, or were in our case, and the beds were comfortable enough. It's not the Four Seasons, but it's a great location, in the middle of town, with a beautiful bar attached to the hotel. The staff was super helpful and accomodating and we never had any problems. I would definitely recommend staying at the Imperial as long as you don't expect it to be a 4 or 5 star hotel. It's not that, but it is good for what it is, an older hotel with a good staff and decent rooms.

Firstly, on arrival , we were given a key, no information about what floor it was on, were to go to eat breakfast etc. There is no lift in the 3 storey hotel. On entering the room its dark, dingy and smells. The bathroom was grubby and the toilet wasn't fixed to the floor. The waste pipe was loose and smelt of sewage.
Website advertised carparking to the rear, but there's only enough spaces for 8 cars in a 27 room hotel. When i complained, I was told by the manager that he didnt make up the webpage and he didnt build the carpark and said "Theres nothing i can do about it." He argued with me for 10mins in the lobby with the people in the bar looking at us. Eventually we asked him to find us a new hotel.

We stayed in the Imperial Hotel for one night only on a trip around Kerry. As far as we were concerned, one night was quite enough. We had been travelling and staying in many different hotels around Kerry for a period of a week. The weather was fantastic, as was all the accomodation we stayed in. Until we arrived in Tralee.

We picked The Imperial Hotel for its very central location and general clean appearance. Dont even think of trying to park in their "hotel parking". It's not possible. The hotel room was standard and to the front of the hotel so we did expect some noise from the street. We were not prepared however for the extremely high level of noise from the residents bar and around the hotel later that night. The shouting, singing, crying etc started at 2 am and continued right through the night. Complaining twice to the hotel reception was to no avail and my husband and I were almost forced to leave during the night-were it not for the fact that our car was locked in the "hotel parking"area.

Breakfast was reasonable. The friendliness and advice
of the hotel receptionist was to be recommended.

While we are normally night owls ourselves, this was a not an experience I will be undertaking again!

Stayed here for 2 nights in May. Rooms are ok. Ones on street front are quite noisy in the morning. Good location. Great breakfast. Very nice bar. Good bar menu. Very small car park round back. One way traffic system in front of hotel is a little annoying, quicker walking.
