The Saint James Paris is an amazing hotel in a gorgeous, park-like setting. We stayed in a junior suite on the 5th floor and it was HUGE. The room opened onto an area with a table, powder room and mini bar. There were stairs down to a sunken living room with a flat screen TV, CD stereo, 2 couches, a coffee table and a very cool skylight that opened electronically. Down a long hall on the main level was the bedroom and marble bathroom with double sinks. The rack rate on this room was 630 Euros/night (!!!), but we got an amazing deal at 280 Euros due to us being transferred from a sister hotel that closed for the summer because of unexpected maintenance.
My parents stayed in a full suite and it was even better than our room. The first level had a giagantic living room with all the amenities and a powder room. Up a full flight of stairs they had a master bedroom and bathroom that was the full size of the living room. The living room was on the ground floor of the hotel and looked out into the main courtyard and fountain at the front of the hotel. This was possibly the nicest room in the hotel.
I would highly recommend staying at the Saint James. The only drawback is that the rooms are very expensive, and if you can get past the cost, it is well worth the price. The staff spoke excellent English and was very helpful. All of the rooms and common areas were very clean and well presented. The hotel was very conveniently located near two Metro stops (Port Dauphine and Victor Hugo.) All-in-all we had a fantastic 3 nights at the hotel.
