“Parisian charm in a great location”

Hotel de Latour Maubourg

4 of 5 stars
Cincinnati
Jun 10, 2008

This hotel has a wonderful location. It is situated across the street from a metro station, which we used frequently. Additionally, its locale provides easy access to the Invalides, Eiffel Tower and other sites dependent upon how much you are willing to walk.

The staff, particularly the young women working during the day, are extremely helpful and friendly. You feel welcomed every time you enter the building.

Our room was at the top, under the eaves. There was a window with a view basically, of the wall of the building across the courtyard. This was not a major issue, as the window did provide fresh air and sunlight. The room was small, but charming. It was bigger than the rooms at the Best Western down the street.

A drawback for us was the bathroom. It was rather small. The toilet was placed very close to the wall so that the door could close. The shower itself was actually a handheld shower head and coil that came from the spigot into the bath tub. It took some practice to not have the water squirting all over the bathroom while you rinsed off!

Everything was very clean, lovely bed linens, nice furniture. It definitely had the feel of a boutique, Parisian hotel which was what we wanted. We are already planning our return.

“Great Stay”

Hotel de Latour Maubourg

4 of 5 stars
London
Jun 9, 2008

Stayed here for one night in June 2008. It's pretty compact and the lift is a bizarre experience - especially when the staff come along for the ride - but all in all a superb stay. The location is spot on - a very nice area and loads of life nearby. Good shops and market type stalls offering amazing looking food.

Room was tiny - although they do definitely have bigger ones. Just avoid room 16 if size is an issue for you!

“Great little spot”

Hotel de Latour Maubourg

5 of 5 stars
West Yorkshire
Jun 4, 2008

Great reviews led me to book this hotel - they were not wrong. This is a small boutique hotel in a very good area of Paris. All the comments on the staff are correct - very friendly, very helpful. We stayed in the top floor "junior suite" which is a bit mis-leading in that its not really a suite but a large attic like bedroom with very large bed and sofa bed, plus large bathroom including bath and shower and 2 sinks. Being picky you could say the low roof might be a bit of a nuisance to somebody tall but for us it addeed to the charm of the place. Breakfast was taken in the converted cellar area which was very nice. At 16Euros breakfast isnt cheap but there was lots of it and you dont go to Paris counting the pennies. Nearby - ie across the street - there are a bucketful of really good cafes/restaurants, and you will be at the base of the Eiffel Tower in 10 minutes. The access to the metro station is outside the front door, but we walked most places, the Louvre is 20 mins at asteady pace. I would try and negotiate a deal if you can but I reckon this place has and will get a lot of custom so dont expect silly cheap rates.

    • Disliked — would have liked it cheaper!

“Great 2nd stay at La Tour Maubourg!”

Hotel de Latour Maubourg

4 of 5 stars
Knoxville, Tenn
May 28, 2008

On the front end of a Provence tour, we stayed 3 days in our favorite 7th district hotel! Once again, the staff is absolutely the reason we stay here! They ask about our daughter, who is a student nearby. They make reservations for us, they take care of us, they are like family. Our pretty room had oil paintings, and a huge bathroom.
Located in a quiet area near Invalides, Eiffel, and Rue Cler, there is a cab stand out front , and the Metro! So, you can hop on the Metro and go anywhere. Every time we go to Paris, we do different walks. Try the Pere Lachaise Cemetery for a beautiful stroll through a parklike setting, full of uniquely sculpted mauseleums, and the resting place for many well known figures.

“Not bad, awesome staff”

Hotel de Latour Maubourg

May 24, 2008

Decent hotel, bathroom could be cleaner. Good for those of you who like a quieter area. A little expensive for what you get - def. a 3 star. But the staff were absolutely and completely perfect - super friendly, and the metro station is across the street. Also, all the big sites are close, and there are two nice cafes close by for breakfast, and some shops for food. No room fridge which is a definite minus. I have also stayed in the Latin Quarter and prefer the hussle and bussle of that area and the the closeness of the Marais for little street exploring. But if all you want to do is see the big sites, this hotel is a good location - too quiet for me.
