This hotel has a nice location, but there was no air conditioning and no screens on the windows. The windows had to remain open because of the heat. WE had asked for a triple room and it was very cramped. We had breakfast one of the mornings at 10 euro's per person (that was about $13 to $14 dollars) The only hot food it included was the coffee and the selection was horrible. Check out time is noon, which is very generous. THey advertise international television, but all stations (4) are French only. The hotel is clean and as I said a nice location, but don't go during the summer because of the heat.

We only stayed here because our cousin was already staying there, and we wanted to be in the same hotel as him. Big mistake! Alarm bells should have gone off when we saw the price per night, and then the location. Good location, close to St Lazare station, and the shopping district, Boulevard Haussmann. So it is cheap (for Paris city) and in a good location. But that's it.

The room was awfully small. The bathroom was even more basic, and cramped. The amenities in the bathroom were quite dated, looked and sounded like it was going to break any minute now. But the worst thing about the hotel was the noise from the street. For a relatively small street, it is very noisy in the middle of the night. And because the room has no air-con, we had to open the window for some breeze, but the noise outside made it impossible to sleep. So that meant to we had to sleep in a hot and stuffy room. Worst two nights I've ever spent in Paris! It is true what they say, you get what you paid for...

We had a horrible experience here. We booked two triple rooms for the weekend to share between 5 people, and hotels.com said that a triple room contained 3 twin beds. When we arrived they only had triple rooms with a full bed and a twin cot, all of which had plastic matresses and were disgusting. The rooms were tiny, they had room for the two beds and a small desk and that's it, NO extra room to move around. To add insult to injury, I'm fairly sure the hotel had mold, because all 5 of us began having allergic reactions every time we went back into the hotel. They claim to have reduced our room rate for the problem with the number of beds, but refused to give me any kind of invoice showing the change, even though I asked for one twice. Don't be fooled by the decent looking lobby, this hotel is disgusting.

We arrived at the Charing Cross late last thurs night. The hotel was easy to find and in a great location. The gentleman at the desk was so friendly and helpful. The room was fine, extremely clean and tidy with three beds (all v comfortable, slept so well..i'd say the constant walking helped too!). We were on the third floor and had a big window, and i have to say, there was no noise at all! I had been abit worried about that from previous reviews on Tripadvisor..The bathroom was small but had everything and the shower was great (after figuring out how to work it!) The lift is tiny as previous reviews say....max three ppl, but it fit the three of us with our cases and multiple shopping bags..!

I really cannot fault the location..right across the road from Metro St. Lazare and just around the corner from about 15 other metro stops! Printemps and Galerie LaFayette are just around the corner and there are some market-like stalls selling handbags etc which are great! The staff in the hotel were unbelievably friendly and chatty and couldn't do enough to help us.

If you are looking for luxury then you'll be paying for it. You get what you pay for..The Charing Cross is clean and comfortable and the location cannot be matched. The truth is that you dont spend much time in your hotel when you're in Paris so why go for pure luxury when you can have comfort at a great price!? I will be recommending it anyway!
