My wife and I made a reservation at Devillas over the internet. When we arrived, they told us that there were no rooms available (despite my showing them the confirmation they had sent us which clearly indicated our arrival date). They had us as arriving the following day. They made no effort to reimburse us in any way and told us to find another hotel. One other thing - the hotel is right next to the above-ground tracks of the metro so it is probably very noisy in the rooms. Stay away.

We have just returned after a 4 night stay for my wifes 50th birthday along with 3 other couples. The rooms while small were clean and tidy. Any problems encountered were dealt with quickly and efficiently. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast while small was relatively adequate but unfortunately the same everyday. Access to the metro was nearby at both Saint Marcel and Austerlitz. Recommend you buy an orange cartel travel ticket as this will certainly save you money. Word of warning. Do not use the brassiere next door to eat. Of the 8 of us not one was satisfied with their meal. All in all a convenient location to reach all the sights of Paris.

I was at Hotel Devillas for 6 evenings. I had a room on the first floor.
Windows are soundproof so there was not much noise.
Room is of a good size and clean (but you should not be barefoot.)
Bathtub is good.
Breakfast is good: one bread, one croissant, yougurt, coffee, one piece of butter,
one piece of cheese and marmelade. And a glass of orange juice (8 euros).

Metro is very near and there are good restaurants in the neighborhood.
There are laundries nearby (Cinq a Sec on Boulevard St Marcel).
Minor problems: the safe did not work. I complained once but they forgot.
The tv remote control had the batteries hold in place with adhesive tape.
I paid in cash and they did not give a proper receipt (one clearly written paid in cash)

I think the hotel is adequate for couples on tourism and business travelers.

This little hotel was perfect for our short break. Okay the rooms were basic and quite small, the shower was very dodgy and the bath was tiny, but the water was hot all of the time.

The staff (especially the guy who served breakfast) were lovely and helpful and spoke good English.

It is on a very busy road and noisy when the balcony doors are open but the soundproofing is very good and when shut we couldn't hear a thing.

There is a supermarket a couple of minutes walk away, handy for cheap wine and crips !

The best thing was indeed the location, we walked to the Notre Dame (took about 30 minutes) but we walked slowly as we wanted to take in all the sights, and we were only 15 minutes to the Seine where we caught the Batabus.

I would recommend this hotel if you want a nice little hotel, fairly cheap and good location.
