I stayed here for two nights in June 2007- all my friends will tell you I am notoriously finicky with regard to service, cleanliness etc - I have to say that this hotel is excellent value for money, scrupulously clean, tastefully decorated, with spacious and pretty rooms and trendy modern bathrooms. The staff were all extremely courteous and helpful - even exhibiting that relatively rare phenomenon amongst the French of a great sense of humour! The Hotel is 2 minutes walk from the main boulevard and in a very safe area. I did not take breakfast but spoke to people who waxed eloquent about the heaps of hot chocolate, fresh juice and warm croissants on offer. English is spoken reasonably well and nothing is too much trouble for the staff who will provide you with maps, restaurant recommendations and anything else you wish to know!
Forget all the characterless and expensive 3 and 4 star places, here you will find the walls decorated with Provencal images by local painters-ok so the television isn't flat screen and there is no mini bar- but who cares? if you go to Nimes to watch TV you must be mad, and why pay minibar prices when just a minute's walk away you can grab a half litre of chilled rose for under 4 quid?! This is the first time I have been moved to write a review - I paid 50 euros for a twin room and it was such a good experience that I wanted to let others know! I have stayed in many Hotels including those from "the leading hotels of the world" group" in Geneva, Ritz Carlton in Montreal and Nile Hilton in Cairo to name but a few - believe me the little Kyriad is better! I would be interested to know if others agree - try it!
