At 50 euros a night for a large double room the Acanthe du Temple was money well spent. Booked this place on the basis of the reasonable reviews on TA and was not let down. OK, the wall paper leaves a little to be desired and the whole place is a tad dated, but on a good day, that just adds to the character. And its location means that the old town and all the sights are on your doorstep anyway so no need for sitting in your room wondering what to do. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast at 7 euros was perferct and everywhere was very clean. So if you're not too concerend about the decor or don't strive for a room with the latest flat screen TV and monsoon shower then this 2 star town centre hotel is perfect. PS don't be put off be the photos - again, think about character!!
One final thing - NImes itself is well worth a visit. A charming town, easy navigatable, not overrun with hordes of tourists and enough sites, bars and cafes for a few days. we will return
