We are just back from my holiday in Perpignon and I stayed with my husband in this hotel for 6 nights.

The hotel is pretty with a nice garden but it is located in a small area in the middle of council places ( Very unpleasant area) and I have seen people selling drugs at night.

We were extremely disappointed to know that we had to share our flat with other couples during the week we stayed. We were not made aware when we booked. All the 3 couples who shared the flat with us were surprised also.

During our 6 nights nobody has been to clean the place and I had to ask for new towels.

Be very careful once you book one room, it is inside a flat and you will have to share kitchen and livening space with other people and this is not clearly stated in the web site, we felt very much to be mislead by the owner.

Also there is a huge TV but we can only watch video with it you can’t watch TV and the water by the swimming pool was freezing.

Finally in Perpignon there is nothing much to see 1 night and definitely ok but 6 nights it is too much. It is better to go in the coast by the seaside.

This hotel is overpriced and we went there because of the reviews we read in Trip advisor but there are many better places where you can spend your holiday!

A truly splendid place to explore the region from. Only 10 minutes walk to the centre of Perpignan. Yet it has a country feel once inside the gated grounds. Nothing is to much trouble for your host Elina who has a truly great knowlege of the area and can give good guidence on where to go and what to do.
The rooms are all furnised to a very high standard and are quite large, this goes for the dining and lounge areas also.
And the bathroom is truly exelent. Indeed everthing is brand new
throughout the building. The large garden has a swimming pool and is totaly enclosed.
Highly recomended. truly 5 star.

This is a little gem. Highly recommended for an "escape". After a particularly busy few weeks we came down to La Tour Apollinaire for an overnight stay. The Tramontane wind was blowing madly but we curled up in the Chablis apartment and thoroughly appreciated the comfort, space and layout. The bedroom had a vaulted ceiling and a stained glass window, and the rest of the apartment has wonderful beamed ceilings and stone walls. Free Wifi access was made good use of too.

We tried a couple of restaurants they recommended too. You can walk into the middle of town in a comfortable 10 minutes. So we had sushi for lunch at "Omedeto" and Italian fusion cuisine at Laurens'o in the evening. Perpignan has a relaxed, Spanish feel to it - the restaurant did not fill up until 9,30pm !

Breakfast the next day was delicious, in a lovely sunny conservatory overlooking the garden. The wind had died down, the sky was blue and we had a walk round their palm tree filled garden. Certainly intending to come back later in the year when it's warm enough to use the pool.

Overall - I think this is good value for money, and Robin and Elena were welcoming hosts. They had tremendous vision to turn the Chateau into such a beautiful place to stay.

We were lucky enough to select Chateau Apollinaire for our Hogmanay break which was a memorable highlight of our 4 week tour of France.

After a long trip we arrived in Perpignan to find the Chateau behind secure gates, a slight apprehension here thinking that we would have to park our car on a busy street. However, on pressing the entry button and speaking to Elena, we were welcomed inside and it felt like an oasis – lovely grounds, imposing, well cared for property and best of all, the warmest of introductions and generous guidance to enable us to make the most of our stay.

The website gave us confidence to book the crypt room and apartment, but it just surpassed our wildest expectations. The use of the well equipped, stylish, spacious area was wonderful and even though we were located in Perpignan it felt so very tranquil and private. Everything had been carefully planned for the comfort of guests and what a lovely surprise to find complimentary champagne and chocolates plus a fine selection of wines and nibbles. The huge selection of DVD’s was a great bonus for one quiet relaxing evening in, enabling us to enjoy the superb accommodation.

Breakfast was an option and we were so glad that we took it. A wonderful choice of fresh breads, pastries, fruit, cheese, meat and fish, all beautifully presented and served in the attractive light, sunny conservatory – excellent value.

As recommended by Elena we had very enjoyable days out to the coast and into the mountains, awesome scenery.

We were full of admiration for the way that Robin & Elena have restored Chateau Appolonnaire, authentic, yet with elegance and style. Not only that, they have also created a haven, with the highest standards, giving their guests who are lucky enough to discover this very special place a unique, incomparable experience.
