We arrived at the Beau Site on spec, not having done any research on hotels in Rocamadour, but choosing the one which had the most stars and was open!
We were very pleasantly surprised - the receptionist was most helpful and let me look at the room before committing to it. She originally offered a choice of rooms with bath, but when I asked for a shower, it was even cheaper! The room was excellent - newly refurbished on the 2nd floor, and from my bed, I could see the castle out of the bedroom window! It was an open plan room with a separate (very small) toilet but perfectly fine for a couple who had spent 12 hours on the road! The hairdryer wasn't great, and I didn't notice any coffee making facilities either but the bar in the hotel (it was across the road) let us take drinks back to our room.
I asked what time the restaurant closed (it was close to 9pm) and she said that it was immediately so she told us to take our bags upstairs while she ran over the road and begged them to stay open! She then offered to take our car keys to move the car while we settled in.
The restaurant had a set menu as well as a la carte and our food was absolutely faultless! Service was excellent, the food was good value and exactly what we needed.
I agree that you really only need one night in Rocamadour - we spent most of the next morning wandering through the streets and tasting some of the delicacies in the local shops but once you've done that and the castle, there's not much else.
