We almost got put off from some of the reviews, but when we got there last week, we were very very happy. We used Toulouse as a base for a couple of side trips, so we got to stay in 3 different rooms at the hotel. They all had a view of the river and the people couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We didn't opt for the 16 euro breakfast, but went across the street to get 2 croissants each, a cup of coffee and orange juice squeezed on the spot for a mere 3.80 each.
The food at the restaurant adjoining the hotel is awesome. If you book through the hotel, there was a free glass of champagne too!
All in all an excellent value, nice location. We're planning to go back again.

I stayed here in summer '02 and was satisfied with my dinky little single room - quite small, but cheap and cheerful. It fared better in my opinion because the last place I'd stayed at in Toulouse was Hotel Splendid in the rough area near the station, which was disgusting. As a single female traveller there is much to be said for comfortably located hotels such as this with decent single rooms.

The same thing happened to us! we'd booked the hotel by telephone with a woman who seemed to speak very good english. When we got there, she denied ever having taken the booking - but had managed to take money from a credit card number suppiled by our party! We had an awful time trying to sort things out - which we didn't manage to do, and nearly ruined our stay in Toulouse. The bank refunded us, but it was a deeply unpleasnat experience. Do NOT stay here. We managed to fing another hotel (not with any help from the rude staff at Beux Arts) The hotel deserves every bad review it gets.

This is the worst hotel I have NEVER stayed at. I say never because they booked us in for the wrong date, denied ever having taken our booking but somehow managed to keep the cash. We had to find another hotel (mercure wilson--whicih was okay). We had to discuss this with the staff who were rude to the point where I thought we might be on candid camera. I was shocked and appalled. Thankflly, our credit card company got the money back for us. Do not, under any circumstances, even consider this hotel. Toulouse is wonderful--the Hotel Des Beaux Arts is truly, truly hideous in EVERY way. A travesty of customer service.
