Spent just one night at Des Capitouls, but my husband and I had such a pleasant stay. The check in process was fast and the reception guy gave as a no-smoking room as requested. As we walked into the room, we've noticed that the previous guest had smoked in it, so we went back to the reception and asked for another room. The guy immediately assigned us a different room. New room was nicely appointed, extremely spacious (it also had kitchenette), and had a nice view on the main street - what a nice surprise! Hotel staff was great and provided us with tourist/transportation info. Des Capitouls has not private parking, but we've parked our car in the public garage located next to the hotel. Just make sure the reception stamps your parking ticket, so the garage staff will apply you a special BW rate.

My boyfriend & I stayed in Tououse in May 2005 using the Toulouse en liberte weekend package (see Toulouse Tourist Office website). We picked the Grand Hotel les Capitouls for its location - easy walking distance to the town centre and also directly opposite the bus stops to/from the airport. The room was comfortable and the breakfast good and plentiful. The staff on the reception were excellent, providing all kinds of tourist information etc. There was usually somone around who could speak English and they were very tolerant of the way I mangled their language. If you are going to book a weekend trip do check out the Toulouse en Liberte deals - the prices have not been increased since 2004, so we found that we could book the hotel at a much cheaper rate than on the Best Western website.

I visit Toulouse about once a year, and I have come to appreciate this hotel. It's a quick walk to the center of town, and a reasonable walk to the train station. There's lots of underground parking under the main drag in front of the hotel (but remember where you park; it's a maze.)

The hotel has about 50 rooms, and they are typically Euro-small. I wish to heck they would put shower curtains on the tubs, but otherwise the rooms are fine. There's some sort of Internet access in the rooms, but I couldn't get it to work.

The dining/bar area is quiet and offers cocktails in the PM and a nice Euro breakfast in the AM.

All in all, a nice place to stay when visiting Toulouse.

Stayed for two days in Sept 2004. Comfortable room, decent size for a small hotel and quiet at night. Most staff spoke good English and didn't laugh at my attempts at French! Location is great. Airport bus stops right outside the hotel. The main railway station is a five minute walk north and you are right on the edge of the old city. Place Wilson is a couple of blocks and Place des Capitoules is a ten minute stroll through lovely old streets. Loads of restaurants and cafes near by. Would stay there again.
