After spending my first night in an extremely small 40 euro room, at the Hotel de France, with a very soft bed, I decided to splurge.

The Best Western had special weekend rates of 99 euros, so I decided to take advantage. However, the room they showed me was so small and average I refused it. Then they offered to upgrade me, but the room was on the top floor, and still not worth it. So they offered to upgrade me even higher, at the 99 euro price. This room was superb.

Huge, poshly furnished, giant bathroom, quiet, balcony overlooking the boulevard (windows kept out noise), comfortable king-sized bed - definitely worth 99 euros.

However, the actual weekend rate was 139 euros, and it was way more for a weekday (159 euros, I think). Worth it only if you have the money. This is their third level up (price range), and the ones below are not even worth 99 euros (whether you have the money or not).

The location is just okay. You have to cross a major, multilane, street, the intersection of Boulevareds Strasbourg and Carnot, to reach Pl. Wilson. Hotels in this area, like the Hotel de France, are more convenient for seeing the city.

Reception area was nice and staff very helpful. Location of hotel was central for eating and shopping. Reviews of good shopping in Toulouse Im afraid was not found. Shops of a hight street quality only. Eating options were varied and this was reflected in price also. Hotel was 8 mins walk from the local train station. Taxi to and from Airport was stiff at 30E single way. Bedroom was only ok. Blankets on the bed!In this day in age i find that unhygienic and unacceptable. I had blanket removed from bed and place under the single pillow, i was disappointed that the staff did not supply a secind pillow.Room was clean but in need of refurbishment. Air conditioning was of poor strength. Room was quiet although it over looked the main street. breakfast was priced at 13E pp, value wise it was over priced. The usual selection of croissants, pasteries, cheese. Fruit was poor and over ripe. Milk was warm for cereals. Option of scrambled eggs and bacon was atrocious quality and tasteless. rooms were 91E per 2 sharing per night which was valu in an over priced town. I would reccommend this hotel purely for location convenience and value for money. If you merit a treat or some luxury, give this hotel a miss.

I have visited Toulouse on business regularly for the last three years and cannot really recommend this hotel. It is well located, though on the fringe of some less salubrious parts of town. But apart from that and the standard trimmings of a Best Western (service was fine, breakfast was pretty good) it doesn’t have much to offer. Many of the rooms are in need of renovation. I once had a ground-floor room which had windows opening onto the street. As the Air-conditioning wasn’t working properly, I had to leave the window open at night and at about three I heard a group of guys urinating on the wall outside. I would only stay here when other, nicer options (e.g. Holiday Inn Le Capoul, Hotel des Beaux Arts, Hotel Garonne…) are not available

This hotel has an excellent location with the metro and the airport bus literally on the doorstep.
However apart from that I can't say much good about it (and reading the reviews I feel like I stayed at a different place).
The rooms were fine but just like a souless business hotel.
The breakfast was rubbish.
Cheese in packets (in FRANCE!!!) - I thought it was diabolical - "nil points".
Zero effort was put into the breakfast, only the minimum required was done.
We only tried it once.
