We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in April, after getting a good deal through Expedia. Our room didn't quite match the photos on the website, which showed quite basic accommodation and given the price, this was what we were expecting. But, the room was run down and in need of extensive refurbishment, and although the lobby & ground floor looked modern and well kept, the corridors to the rooms on our floor were shabby as well... and we were expecting basic accommodation! I'm not sure if they are refurbishing the whole hotel (we didn't notice any workmen) but that might explain the contrast between the different parts of the building.
Also, I'm not sure if this is a specifically French thing (but we didn't have this problem when we stayed in Paris) but the toilet was completely separate from the 'shower' room. So after nipping to the loo, you went through the toilet door separating it from the main room, then through that room door to the hall and then through another door to the 'shower' room to wash your hands! Not very convenient if you need to go in the middle of the night and don't want to wake anyone by putting the light on.
The bedding and bathroom were clean but the whole delapidated feel did put us off somewhat. On the plus side, the staff were friendly but as we didn't pay extra for the breakfast, we didn't have much to do with them beyond checking in & out. Also, friends who we were visiting said the hotel wasn't in a very good part of Toulouse, but we never had any problems and it is only about 5 mins walk to the shops etc. Toulouse is a lovely place to visit but I would only recommend this hotel if you are on a very tight budget and want to be close to the centre.
