We stayed at the Hotel D'Orsay for 4 nights in August. The rooms we found very cramped and the bathroom facilities lacking with onlly a hand held shower and a seperate toilet imediately next door to the bedroom. The air conditioning however was very effective. The Hotel boasts a garden but unfortunately there is no seating area in the garden which is a shame as it would have been nice to be able to actually enjoy the space and perhaps even have your breakfast outdoors. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast was adequate but after 4 monings of a croissant and a plain breadroll it did become a little monotonous. .The location was a good 10 minute walk to the centre. If you turned left immediately out of the hotel and walked to the centre this was rather a shabby road with many tramps and rather seedy looking cafes at first but the scenery improves as you continue on.. This however is the better route into and out of town at night time. We made the mistake of returning to the hotel from the opposite direction and had to pass by a couple of prositutes and transvestites who although did not threaten us, I think people would children or older couples may find a little intimidating.
