We used BW's book ahead to book this. There are 2 properties listed for Bayeux. We asked her to ring this one, the only accomodation was a suite. For one night, we thought this was a bit much, so we asked for the other - they are the same place, diffierent buildings, but with same owner and next to each other! We took the suite.
It's very nice. The only negative was the length of time to get our room. We were early, and were told it would be 2pm - that was okay with us. We came back about 2:30 or more to be told that it still wasn't ready. We went off again and did some shopping and it was ready the next time.
For a suite, it was nothing special. The room was huge, the bathroom equally so. But the bed was standard size, the shower was a nightmare to get working, adn while it had 3 shower heads, at least one of them was faulty, resulting in a totally soaked bathroom floor - which was so wet, it was dangerous to walk around.
There is a car park at the side (payable). There is a very nice little garden at the side, and we sat out here as it was so lovely.
We loved Bayeux and would go back - but maybe not to this hotel. There is nothing wrong with it, and maybe we were looking for too much almospshere - but the rest of Bayeux is so great, it's hard not to

Four of us paid a visit to Bayuex for 5 days in July 2007. We wanted to visit the Normandy beaches again, as we had done last year.
We had difficulty booking two rooms in Bayuex for four nights and had little choice other than to choose the Hotel Grand Luxembourg. The hotel in in a good central position for walking around the town.

I'm afraid that this hotel is in urgent need of a good refurb and some TLC. The reception is tiny, staffed by people who I swear were struck dumb. They must have been under pain of death, if they spoke to visitors. My bedroom was dingy and smelt of cigarettes. The bar was so dark that you needed a torch with your drink to see what was in the glass. To get a Gin & Tonic without ice or lemon was common. If you asked for ice and lemon, you were a pain in the backside to staff. If you sat in the bar, you could wait for ages for someone to come from reception/kitchen to serve you. After the first two nights, we gave up and went out for an evening drink.

The breakfast was very reasonable and good value.

Overall, I would not return as I'm sure there must be better in the town.

As for Bayuex. It is a lovely town and with some nice places to visit and eat in.

We stayed here for 3 nights during half term.
My wife and daughters (13,10) arrived (at the Brunville) to be told that our 2 booked rooms (1 twin and 1 double) would be in different buildings. I refused this of course assuming that we would be next door to one another. After some fuss, we were taken to the Hotel next door (Luxemborg) and were offered a triple room where a 4th bed could be placed. After 7 hours travelling, a tired family and it being 18:00hrs, I had no choice but to accept.
The room was OK, a bit basic but very clean. The beds were truely the most uncomfortable ever though.
We made a point of not being there any longer than necessary.
The facilities that we did use at the hotel were as follows.
Breakfast - at 11 Euros each, a complete rip off. The food was a self service cold buffet, all of which was quite nice but the atmosphere was very subdued. You could hear a pin drop in there. The worst thing was the extremely miserable waitress who ignored all. When asked for a spoon, she took my wife to the table where they should have been to find the tray empty. She left to get some spoons and my wife sat back down at the table. The waitress returned with the spoons, walked right past my sitting wife and placed all of the spoons in the tray and walked off. How rude is that?
Bar - we reckon it was the ghost bar because by 10 o'clock it was empty of punters and staff. My 13 year old spent half her time behind the bar inspecting the bottles without them ever knowing.
Parking - £8 Euro per night
Regarding the tea and coffee making facilities, we saw none of this in our room. Don't be fooled, I think you can get this but it is in a central location and not in your room.
All in all, don't bother, there must be better around.

We started our visit to Normandy staying at this hotel. I booked this hotel on the recommendation of my dentist who had stayed a few years ago. I think the picture of the outside looks dreary and cold. We were pleasantly surprised with the clean and friendly room, nice bathroom, enjoyable restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. The desk staff was helpful and friendly. The bar was small but perfectly charming and we were able to get Pommeau and Calvados. Delicious. The location was great, We loved Bayeux and would definately go back to the city and the hotel in the future.
