My partner and I stayed at the Luxembourg in August 2006. I booked a suite for 150 euros on the internet and the description sounded great. However on arrival we were very dissapointed when we walked into our room. Instead of a queen bed we had two singles pushed together. There was no sky TV as advertised and the supposed bath robes were missing. The room itself was simply a large double and nothing special at all.
We had a private terrace leading out through some double doors which would have been very nice but for all the weeds and cracked floor tiles. There was also a big hole in the wall which must attract damp.
The reception area was fine and the staff were reasonably friendly if not a little ignorant. The bar was dark and dingy and no-one seemed to use it. We did get a discount when I complained but I would much rather have had a nice room.
Luckily the next night we travelled down to Ducy and booked into a lovely hotel in the form of a converted mill, thank heavens!
