This was a lovely, above average, simple, family run hotel. The staff could not have been more accommodating, the room was great with a lovely ensuite & French telly, hotel centrally located yet in a little quiet street off the main road. Breakfasts weren't brilliant, the usual buffet but no cold meats or fruit salad although sachets of hot chocoate were included which was nice mixed with cornflakes! Even so, we did not have to have the breakfast but as it was only 6.5 euro, it was a much more pleasant alternative compared to traipsing in the rain outside looking for a caff. There is a flea market held in the very street of the hotel at the weekend which we didn't get a chance to have a look at (but it did look like tat) which made the getting out of the street by car a bit of a challenge but we made it with no casualties :) The value for money at the hotel was out of this world, this may be seasonal so check beforehand. Apparently, they participate in a "Rouen bon weekend" & if you book 3 nights, you only pay for two although you have to pay tax per day at 0.60 cents which is next to nothing. You have to pay for parking which seems to be standard in Rouen & only 5 euro a night. They clearly have many satisfied regulars. The whole thing cost us approx 123 euro and this was for 3 nights, 2 breakfasts & parking for 2 people in a charming hotel. With this sort of deal, you can't help but have a "bon weekend!"
