Although part of a large chain, this Novotel is very good. Great location in La Rochelle - away from traffic, but only 10 min walk into the town, very quiet, large car park (v. imp. in La Roc), staff very efficient, friendly and helpful. Rooms are very spacious and clean, good bathroom with separate wc. Would definitely say best hotel in town having seen others. Only downside is that the area around the pool is quite cramped.

3 star (infact I would say 3 plus) hotel with good facilities, with only a short walk to the centre of La Rochelle; rooms clean, helpful staff.

Also has parking which after a short time you soon realise is at a real premium in La Rochelle.

Good location (ask for rooms facing the park), nice decoration, good brekfast and efficient staff. This is a very predictible, typical Novotel recently renovated 10 min. walk from the city centre. Probably the best option in La Rochelle.

The hotel is in a great location and almost a beeline from the central bus station. You can easily take the #7 bus from the airport and it drops you off at Place Verdun, the centre of the city. The bus fare is €1.30 and its a 15 minute ride.

Anyways, the front desk staff was really helpful. We were a group of three guys trying to make it a cheap weekend and we were given a double plus a pull out for €99 which was great.

The decor of the hotel is not over the top but quite functional in a stylish way. The bar is nice but the drinks are over priced - €9 for a gin and tonic. We didn't eat there - go out and enjoy the many places within a stone's throw from the hotel! As it was cold, we also didn't see the pool. It was low season (Jan) and the hotel was mostly empty and didn't see any other guests. Free internet in the lobby was a nice touch.

Overall, it was a great hotel in a nice location just a wee bit outside of the city. It was excellent value and would definitely stay there again!
