The location is definately its best asset - just on the edge of the centre - so doesn't have the road noise of alternatives. Fantastic restaurants right on its doorstep - plus the one and only beach is only a short walk away. Also the lovely park (along the old ramparts) is literally just around the corner.
However our room (215) was disappointing - the second floor is in the roof - so one small window - and dated (but very clean) decor.
The rooms at the back of the hotel look out over the small garden/carpark (like 215) whereas all the other rooms look over the pretty internal courtyard. The view of the tower is spectacular at night though.
Didn't try the hotel breakfasts - were put off as they encourage you to take it in your room - a shame as the tables and courtyard are very pretty - but probably too small for everyone. But with so many bars on the seafront doing le petit dejeuner for half the price..........
In summary - would we go back - yes - but would maybe try the 1st floor rooms/suites.
