We spent 3 days here in late August 07 and now I see what the reviews were talking about. The most important thing is the balance - somewhere between rustic charm and left bank chic, with a touch of 5 star luxury thrown in for good measure.
We had dinner on the (thankfully mosquito-netted) terrace two nights out of three and the food was exceptional for 55 euros per person. Simple local flavours, combined and presented beautifully - bull steaks, local fish, roasted provencale vegetables, tarte tatin with Camargue fleurs de sel etc. And personal visits from Jacques and his wife on both occasions.
The bedroom was quite small and dark but the bed was huge and the bathroom superb - again, simple, tasteful and verging on luxurious.
The pool is another good feature, with nice loungers and towels, and the water cool enough to take the edge off the Camargue sun but not so much as to cause cardiac problems.
We hope to go back when the bank balance has recovered.
