This hotel looks great. Situated in the heart of Arles, it is an easy walk to most of the town's attractions. We stayed in Room 6: so if you like what you see in my snapshots then that's the room to request.
The garden is exquisite French Provencal style. Very orderly: lots of planters and formal lines and boxwood... you know the look. Our room was airy and pretty, in a sort of east-meets-west way. Ceiling fan and air conditioning were greatly appreciated in a country where both are rareties. Lots of newspapers available in the mornings, in both English and French. Most of the other guests seem to be European and Asian. I happen to like Americans a great deal, but if your idea of a holiday includes escaping Yanks, then this place will probably please you.
On the downside: the beautiful pool isn't heated, so even on sweltering July days, it's too chilly for a comfortable swim (and I'm not being a wuss... I didn't see any other guest in the pool at any time during my stay) No wi-fi available at the hotel -- this must change! Expensive for a room with no proper bathtub. Nasty incense/perfumed oil burned in lobby and our bedroom (I know that many people enjoy this sort of thing, but it just makes me gag.) Minute parking lot. And while the hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the service good, it felt a bit... I don't know the exact word to use... cold? Impersonal? Business-like?
Overall, probably the best hotel in Arles, but not by a long shot my favourite in France or even Provence.
