We stayed here for three nights and our room was very stylish and comfortable. We had an enormous two person stone bath/shower and a bronze basin. The garden is very formal, and although we did lie on the regimented sunbeds and read, the pool is much too cold to swim in in early October as its unheated. Car parking was very convenient, once you found it. The hotel is not easy to find, as other reviews have mentioned, and the car park at the bottom of the garden even less so.
Our reservatons about this hotel are that the breakfast is not included in the price and is an additional E16. Dinner is E50. No menu is displayed, so you don't even know what is on offer. We saw only two people eating breakfast and no-one eating dinner. There is no price list for the mini bar, nor any information in the room about what facilities are available in the hotel. I asked the male receptionist if there was an internet cafe close by. He didn't know, but I did find one one street away, where I got about a dozen mosquito bites. The next day I decided to ask if they had internet access for guests, and the female receptionist said they did but she did not know how to connect it, so could I come back the next day when her male colleague would be there. This I did, and when I asked if I could use the computer for guests, he abruptly asked if it was for e-mail. As a 61 year old woman, I was hardly likely to be wanting to play games! He got a laptop out of a cupboard and connected it up and placed it on the shoulder high reception desk. I had to stand up and type above my shoulders, which proved painful and difficult. When I finished, I suggested that a table and chair might make it a lot more comfortable for guests. He shrugged (you know the look) and said I could have WiFi, but would have to pay, and could then use the computer in the lounge. I would have been more than happy to pay, but as there is no information to tell you the facility is available, how could I know. You get the feeling that this is run as a private house, rather than an hotel, and guests are just messing the place up! With a little more information and a little more warmth, it could be perfect.
