“Such Friendly Service”

I stayed here with a group in May 2008. I was really impressed with the genuine friendly, smiling service we recieved throughout our stay. We ate in the hotel restaurant most nights and the food was varied, light and delicious with some particulary good deserts.

The rooms are full of light with views over the gardens and olive grove beyond. The setting is really peaceful but just a 5 minute walk into the village.

I had read a review on this site regarding a fly problem at this hotel and I would like to put this right. During our stay we had occasional flies as you would expect in any country area but nothing like the problem described in this review. We passed several afternoons dozing by the pool with not a fly in sight. The 'fly review' was placed some years ago and must have been a one-off.

In summary I would recommend this hotel as a peaceful base for Les Alpilles, particularly for its quality of genuine service.

This hotel is located on the outskirts of Maussne-les-Alpilles and within walking distance of the village and appears to be lovely. However, there is a terrible fly problem on the grounds that the staff claim come from the sheep across the road that are there year round. When I say fly problem I mean 20+ flies hovering everywhere. it is impossible to lay on the lounge by the pool ;same thing inside in the lovely chaise lounge area, or on our private balcony and one look in the morning in the breakfast room sent me straight out. They try to control the problem with toxic spray. Not sure which is worse. I would not stay here again because of that.
