This hotel is well located in Avignon..between the Pont D'Avignon and Palais des Papes.

We found it a little bit hard to find when driving, it's kind of within the walls of the old town of Avignon. The hotel is conveniently located on the top of an underground car park, where as I recall the hotel offer a discount on the price.

The rooms were a good size with 2 double beds and a full bath as opposed to just a shower. Our room overlooked a kind of courtyard garden.

The hotel's breakfast is very god value particualry if you have children as they eat for free. The breakfast is a buffet with the usual fayre. We worked out that having breakfast here with 1 free child was cheaper than hunting a cafe outside and of course at the hotel you can eat as much as you like.

The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful, even when we managed to enter the wrong code into our safe and accidentally lock it!

I would definietly recommend this hotel for a stay in Avignon. It's part of the Mercure chain so you know what you'll be getting, and that is a well located hotel in the centre of Avignon. The price was also very good - I think it was 90 euros a night when booked in advance through the mercure website

“Great central 3 star hotel”

We stayed in this hotel for 6 nights and used it as a base to travel around Provence/Luberon towns. Book directly through Mercure website and got a good deal. Room was modern, clean and of good size. Our window overlooked and interior garden and room was peaceful, despite the hotel being so central. Location was excellent, just a few steps from Palace du Papes, within the walls. Private parking (at discount price for guests) made day trips extremely easy. Did not eat in the hotel, so can not comment on food quality, but there are lots of good cafes/restaurants nearby. Staff were friendly and helpfull. We looked at so many options for our week holiday, from moving from place to place to basing ourselves in one location. We were very happy with our choice. Avignon is a great base to come back to for a nice meal after a day of seeighseing and Mercure Pont d'Avignon was nice and convenient, specially if you are driving (very easy access).

We (I and my husband) stayed in this well located hotel for 2 nights. The room is confortable and clean. Bathroom is not smal. Close to Palais du Papes, inside the walls. Easy parking. The breakfast was delicious, with fruits, cheese, croissant, many kinds of bread, ham, eggs... I have read about it in Fromer's travel guide and, after being there, I think it is an excellent deal.

“Terrific location and staff”

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times and have found each time that it is just as great as the 1st....and is a surprising gem. The price was good although I believe my agent got a great deal, she seems to do that all of the time. While tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Avignon, everything one needs is within a 5 minute walk. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. The morning breakfast selections were excellent and far surperior to most hotels of this quality. I would stay here again and again.
