My partner and I stayed a week in the Hotel d'Horloge, while I was on a conference. The hotel is clean, well-presented and centrally located, with very friendly receptionists, who speak perfect English. As Fracnophiles, we were keen to polish our french and they were happy to oblige us, even with a smile. On arrival, I was presented with a bunch of flowers (from a friend not the hotel) and the receptionist went out of her way to borrow a champagne bucket (as a vase) from a nearby pub!
The room was slightly small but more than adequate and the bathroom was large and new - the bath was sumptuous! We also had a separate toilet. The plumbing was a little noisy, but we managed to ignore it after the first night and it didn't bother us. One thing that did annoy us was the lack of drawers for us to unpack into, but there was a cupboard. There was a TV with French/English/German/Italian channels (mostly news and sport).
The included breakfast was wonderful - so much food and great variety! Cereals, fruit, bread, sausgaes and eggs, coffee, tea.... Local cafes charged 6euros for just a small criossant and coffee!
My colleagues stayed in other hotels around the square and generally complained about the standard (noisy, dirty, old furnishings etc). I would recommend this hotel to anyone! We enjoyed it, much to the envy of colleagues!
