We stayed here for 4 nights from 12th September 2008, after reading reviews on TripAdvisor. We found the hotel suited our 'basic tourist' needs well. Despite being located just off the main square it was surprisingly quiet. Our room was on the first floor. It was comfortable if a little small. It was clean and the housekeeping was excellent. English language tv is available, though we enjoyed the French versions of some popular uk programs. There was no evidence of noise from adjacent rooms. The staff were friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful. All members spoke excellent English and were happy to arrange things like car hire etc if necessary. Our only gripe if you can call it that was that we thought breakfast was rather expensive. Being aware of this we had booked room only anyway and enjoyed sampling some of the many nearby cafes and boulangeries for petit dejeuner.

I booked a last-minute trip to Avignon and stayed in room 307 at the Hotel l'Horloge at $272.00 per night during the Avignon Festival (the most expensive week of the year), so my hotel choice was limited. It's in an incredible location in town, so you can run around and take a quick nap or shower befrore you run out again. The room was a triple with 2 double beds in it, quite large for a French hotel, on a corner of the hotel with 3 large windows. Very basic, 3 star, but clean. The staff was helpful when I needed them. The breakfast, nothing special, was not included in the price. Except for the creaky floors, it was a quiet room. The only other problem was the slow elevator, which was in constant use because it was such a popular weekend, I walked downstairs a few times.

This was a good hotel for the week that we stayed there.
The room was comfortable and clean and also spacious.

Although situated right on the main square, it was surprisingly not noisy.
Breakfast was of high quality and a wide choice was offered.

The only slight disappointment was the lobby was very basic. The staff were helpful, although we did not need to use their services a great deal.

The location cannot be beat...right in the heart of Avignon! Ask for a room off the square...they are much quieter. Breakfast is terrific...and as a business traveler they made sure everything was easy. I am anxious to return.
