We had to stay in the annexe as the main hotel was full and, as expected, it was not as good an experience as others have had there .
We were in the double bedroom on the top(third) floor (110E) .It was clean, brightly decorated with good facilites ( shower, separate toilet, kitchenette with kettle etc, hair dryer, TV, AC) but you need to consider 3 things;
1. the staircase to the room is quite steep and narrow; we had our bags carried up for us, but coming down we were on our own. If you're less than fit/agile...
2. I'm not sure how we would have evacuated the room if there had been a fire below; there is no other exit other than down the narrow stairs.
3. the natural light in the room is very limited; there is one small window that looks into the building's lightwell but you need to keep the curtain drawn so as not to be overlooked. The other small window is app. 2 ft above head height and gives you a restricted view of chimney pots and attic windows. If you're busy in Avignon and only in the room for 2 nights, as we were, this was not a big issue for the price we were paying.
The continental breakfast was excellent, delivered to the bedroom door and left hanging on the hook at the agreed time.
The location is good. We did not meet the owners ( who had been very freindly and helpful when contacting them to make the booking) but dealt with their son,Michel, who was very helpful.
We had a look in the first floor bedroom( one double bed and 2 singles in the stiting/eating area) of the annexe and this looked nice/ better than our room . But given the nature of the building and surroundings in this area even though this had a big window it was not a sunny room.
The main house/hotel looked really nice and I would stay again if I could be in the main part.
