We have been two years now to the Hotel de Paris and after trying other hotels in Cannes we plan to stick with this. I found out the other day that someone I work with feels the same! Very clean efficient staff and very good buffet breakfast. Good location with reasonably priced restaurants close in the older part of Cannes. Although not central we in fact prefer a hotel a bit out of the way. We will keep returning

The service was pleasant and unobtrusive, and the hotel was very clean.

After reading some of the reviews we did wonder if we had made a mistake in choosing this hotel but it turned out to be one of the nicest we had ever stayed in. The building was beautiful, the staff couldn't have been more helpful, the atmosphere was relaxed and the choice at breakfast was excellent. Our only criticism was that the water in the swimming pool was cold but it was the end of September.

Having read some of the other reviews of this hotel we were a little concerned. On arrival at 1pm the room was not ready, so the (fairly friendly) reception staff showed us to the pool area (quite pleasant) until 2pm. Parking was a problem, it costs 15 euro per day in the hotel garage, and the on street parking is only for 2 hours (3 euro). Whilst it is true our room on the 4th floor was very small, it was clean, had a nice bathroom, was serviced each morning, and we were not troubled by the busy motorway outside despite being at the front of the hotel. Breakfast was very good, full range of pastries, bread, fruit, meats and cheese. (Not worth an extra 3 euro for a boiled egg though!). The walk to La Croisette was about 5 mins, and was through a slightly dodgy area, but certainly no worse than in any other city. Overall, we would stay in this hotel again for a short break but would not recommend it for a longer holiday. A typical "city" hotel.
