After comparating all hotels downtown in Cannes on many different sites, for a business stay ( MIDEM ) we eventually have chosen to stay at the Hotel de Paris, even if it was a little bit more expensive as a few ones.
What a lovely surprise as we entered, this beautifull boutique hotel is designed in an original "middle age" castle style, and the room was more in the Louis XVI style ( that's what we were said, as we are not expert in furniture design.....)
You can reach within 5 minutes the famous Croisette where the famous palaces are located, and so you can enjoy a walk on the seaside !!!!!!
staff was discret and helpful, a large open buffet breakfast is served in the morning, in a gorgious castle dining room...jus try it at least only to enjoy the surroundings !
the shopping street is just one street across the hotel, and Convention centre is within 10 minutes by walk, so really great location, especially for a fashion addict like me, who like to go shopping after returning from a busy day.....
We do truly recommend this hotel, as it does gather all that you need : location, comfort, style and good prices !

We have just returned from 5 nights at the Golden Tulip Cannes and would thoroughly recommend it for those looking smallish hotel (50 rooms) in the City Centre. The pleasant, professional, friendly staff could not have been more helpful, ask Celine, that was our "guide".
A truly outstanding nice three-star hotel whose location proved to be less of a disadvantage than might have been expected from its position alongside the raised autoroute. My room was spacious, spotless, very clean and quiet. the welcome most friendly and efficient, The pleasant, professional, friendly staff could not have been more helpful, breakfast a most pleasant experience, and the pool, close to the road but guarded by cypress trees giving s feeling of seclusion, a most welcome amenity. The walk to the beach is a genuine 10 minutes and the train station barely three minutes away. Thus the hotel is well placed for touring the coast.

I am coming to this hotel for 4 years now. It's not a 5 star, Hilton. But to be honest, for Cannes, the prices are not to high. The breakfast is just fine. A (chocolate) croissant, Jus d'orange, some fruit and a saucage. (But remember, you have to eat this every morning). After one week, you ate enough croissants. The parking is very funny. 10 Cars in 25 m², but it's okay. The swimming pool is nice, (but man, just go to the famous riviera of cannes!). Reserve a place at the south side, and if it's possible at the lowest floor. It's a small hotel with friendly people (but it's still the cote d'azur, no euros, no nice staff.) If you want to spend your money in the lovely food of Rado Place or other restaurents just go to hotel the paris. You only sleep there. Go, but after one week, escape because of the croissants.

We have been two years now to the Hotel de Paris and after trying other hotels in Cannes we plan to stick with this. I found out the other day that someone I work with feels the same! Very clean efficient staff and very good buffet breakfast. Good location with reasonably priced restaurants close in the older part of Cannes. Although not central we in fact prefer a hotel a bit out of the way. We will keep returning
