My wife and I regularly stay in the Riviera and are often quite shocked at what the French pass off as allegedly 4 star hotels. Thus, I found the Gray D'Albion to be a revelation. It is a super hotel. First of all, the location is perfect. It is literally 10 seconds from the main designer shopping street, Rue D'Antibes - and is only around 100m from La Croisette and the beaches. There is also a Monoprix about 5 minutes walk away for those who wish to fill up the mini-bar with their own purchases. From the front the hotel is a nice modern building - 9 stories high and most rooms have balconies. We booked a deluxe room on the seventh floor with a balcony. It was very spacious with nice modern and clean decor. The bathroom was large with a great shower and nice toiletries provided. We also had a lovely view of Le Suquet from our balcony - complete with awning.
The public spaces in the hotel are nice, with a beautiful grand lobby and cosy bar. The hotel also has a private beach with waiter service. This is pricey (you have to pay for loungers, parasol, towels etc) but is well worth the luxury when in Cannes.
For those driving, there is a secure public car park underneath the hotel. I used it for one night - but at approx 20 odd euros per night it is pricey.
We did not take breakfast in the hotel. Instead I would reccomend using the boulangerie which is directly across from the hotel. Grab yourself a couple of croissants and sit out on your balcony - much better than the pricey 21 euros a head breakfast in the hotel.
Another nice touch in the hotel is the secure lift - you can only activate lifts with your room keycard.
All in all, this is a super hotel in Cannes. There are also lots of fabulous dining options around the back streets of the hotel.
