Awful place...
We went there at the end of Jan/beginning of Feb on some business in Cannes and everywhere else was booked up so the photos of this place seemed nice enough. Don't be fooled though. La Bocca where the hotel is located is terrible, we went to find a few bars in the evening and EVERY TIME we went out in the evening we saw a fight on the street, hmmm, classy!
The hotel reception seemed nice enough but then we experienced the graffiti covered filthy lifts, and on arriving at the room we couldn't belive it, talk about basic!
A small double bed was 'squeezed' into a small room with just enough space to walk around the bed, while a cupboard contained two bunk beds (of course they called it a small bedroom) yeah, whatever!
Our room overlooked the pools, if that's what you could call them - full of green algae and absoloutely filthy. I can only assume they get some kind of cleaning for the summer months!
I'd feel really sorry for a family arriving at this place looking forward to a nice well earned holiday and being REALLY dissapointed. As metioned, we were on business, I'd be furious if I'd booked this place for a family holiday. The beach is across a very busy road via a urine smelling tunnel, which I certainly wouldn't go near after dark. Save yourself the hassle and find somewhere else. I hope you find this review useful.

Let me get to the point right away: Do not go to this apartment hotel!!
There is absolutely no reason to go - it isn't even that cheap.

All right, let me give you some details:

The surrounding area: Trashy. Cannes la bocca is noisy and uncharming. A run-down, poor area.

Our apartment at Cannes Beach Residence: we got a terrible apartment overlooking the railway tracks. Apart from the poor view of the railway tracks, those trains are very noisy!

The apartment was filthy. It looked like it had not been cleaned. You could see this although the place was very dark with almost no daylight coming in.

We had specifically made a reservation for the largest apartment available because we wanted a seperate room where we could put the baby bed, which we be rented at the hotel. However, the room, furnished with bunk beds, was so small, that there was not room for the baby bed.

Right away, we knew we did not want to spend our 3-week holiday at Cannes Beach Residence. However, we had paid our travel agent the full amount in advance, the agency was closed for the day and we had travelled all day, so I started going to the reception to ask for another apartment not facing the railway and with a room large enough for the baby bed.

I did not get any help at the reception. No other apartments available, they said. And when I complained about the small room which could not fit the baby bed the very un-polite man at the reception just said that that's the way it is! With no other apartment available I asked them to come and clean the one we had. "How do you know it is dirty?" the receptionist asked. "There is dirt on the floor!" I said. And a longer debate started, him claiming that it was not likely that the apartment was uncleaned. In the end though, he sent for a cleaning lady....

After a week we had the good luck to transfer to Pierre and Vacances Cannes Mandelieu a few kilometers away. This is a place I can recommend. Rates are almost the same as at Cannes Beach and everything is so much better!

Lovely hotel, not agreat deal of room at the pool but learn when to time it right, staff very helpful and only two minutes by bus, pretty regular service, to Cannes centre

Was there last May (May 2007) for a week for some business in Cannes - since it is in La Bocca we had to take a taxi everytime we needed to go closer to La Croisette which is where we had to be every morning.

Had a clean, quiet and OK room, 1 minute away from a lift, complete with everything. Was staying on my own so it was spacious enough, but probably not so good for more than 2 people in that rom cause it is rather small.

Considering that it was not cheap I would prefer to stay at a hotel closer to Cannes centre next time - to save on taxi at least !

Overall I would not mind staying again...
