“A little over-rated”

Eza Vista

My husband and I stayed in a 1-bedroom unit for 5 nights in May. The views are really fantastic and the location in Eze is perfect - you can walk anywhere very easily - of course the old village is up a lot of steps but well worth it. Unlike other reviews our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels most days and new sheets once which was fine with us. My only complaint is the furnishing and fitting are extremely cheap and even after one year are already looking a bit tired / beaten up. The staff were OK - not fantastic but we really did not need anything. There is WiFi (for a price - 8 euros for 2 hours) but it is only available in the reception area and in the breakfast room - really in a new place this should be available in every room. Parking is an additional 10 euros per day - which is pretty fair given that all hotels in France seem to charge for parking - some as much as 25 euros per day. They have recently added a guest laundry which can be convenient - it's also pay per use (5 euros per load for washing).

A few tips - there is a good bakery / patisserie just up the road (1 minute walk) - just watch out for opening days/hours. There is also a Petit Casino grocery store right there as well - you can buy pretty much everything there.

Dear luxury-lizard,
We would like to thank you for taking the time to share your impressions of your stay at Eza Vista and value both your positive and negative feedback helping us to develop and improve our services and facilities.
The location of our hotel residence with view over the sea and the medieval Village and the proximity to Nice and Monaco as well to numerous shops are the main assets of Eza Vista like you mentioned.
Concerning the Wifi access, we had to remove it from the apartments as the quality of the signal was very bad when we opened in 2006. At the moment we are about to work on another solution in order to restore the Wifi access in the apartments. Nevertheless we provide a Wifi access in our public areas (lobby, terrace and breakfast room). We would be very happy to welcome you again to Eza Vista in the future.

“4 Star View, Not 4 Star Service”

The Eze Vista hotel has magnificent views, but guests should know what they are getting. The hotel does not clean rooms daily during your stay; they do not give you clean towels or clean linens, except for an extra charge. The studio rooms have pull-out couches rather than actual beds. As other reviewers have noted, skip the breakfast -- it is not at all worth it. The employees in charge of breakfast could hardly be bothered to help us run the coffee machine (and we were there in the middle of the breakfast time, not early or late!). The hotel location was ideal and the views were spectacular, but it is not a 4-Star hotel, as far as service is concerned.

Dear WashDC13,
We would like to thank you for taking the time to write about your impressions of your stay at Eza Vista and we value both your positive and negative feedback which help us to improve our services and facilities.
The concept of our hotel residence offers different cleaning formulas (premium, hotel or residential). As our public rates per night include the hotel formula with daily cleaning you must have opted for the residential formula with weekly cleaning in order to benefit from a discount.
Concerning our studios it is true that they are currently equipped with a double sofa bed. We carefully mention this in all of the descriptions to allow our customers to book the most appropriate apartment to their needs. The advantage of the sofa beds is that they are very recent as we opened in 2006 and that they can be folded away in order to make way for some guests or to change the atmosphere. Maybe a one or two bedroom apartment with real beds would have more likely met your expectations than a studio (some people choose a larger apartment even if they are just 2 persons). Also, we are about to work out a solution of replacement of these sofa beds (e.g. folding beds) in order to improve the comfort by maintaining modularity.
We would be very happy to welcome you again to Eza Visa.

“A great introduction to the Riviera”

Although we found the hotel directions a bit confusing, once we found the hotel it was love at first sight. We had a large two bed/two bath suite with a balcony looking over the sea. Just perfect when you've been living out of hotel rooms for a couple of weeks. The beds and sofas were comfortable and it was nice to be able to safely open our balcony doors to the night air. We took the bus from Eze to Nice (1.30 euros) after a nightmare drive to Monaco. The bus picked us up just outside the hotel and dropped us off in downtown Nice within walking distance of the water. There are wonderful places to eat in Eze. We had two dinners at Colette's Cafe. Excellent food and ambiance. Our server, Marinella, made us feel so welcome. And we totally blew the budget at Chateau Eza, near the top of the medieval village. Don't wear high heels, ladies; it is straight up slippery cobblestones, no cars allowed. When we finally got to the restaurant, the climb was worth it. We had a panoramic view of Nice and Cap Ferrat and the Mediterranean Sea. As it got dark, the lights came on all along the coast, shimmering like a diamond necklace. And for some reason, we were also treated to a wonderful fireworks display from the Cap. The food was fabulous and the service out of this world. Recommend Eze and the Residence Villa highly.

Dear T42,
We thank you for taking the time to write this review over your stay at Eza Vista and we are glad that you enjoyed it so much.
Its location facing the sea with view over the medieval village of Eze and the nearness to Nice and Monaco (7 km) are the main assets of our residence. Regular bus connections during the day make it easy to reach Nice or Monaco (now only 1 euro) and are an economic alternative to taxi rides. Also the restaurants nearby offer a large choice. We would be very happy to welcome you again to Eza Visa.

“Very enjoyable”

We had five nights at Eza Vista and we really enjoyed our stay. Our two-bed apartment was very spacious and our balcony had lovely views of the sea. The staff were fantastic and helped us in any way they could. Two small negatives were the pool wasnt heated and the noise of road traffic from the pool/terrace was sometimes a bit annoying. But overall we were impressed with the place. The best bit about staying here was being so near to the old village of Eze which is very cosy and romantic, with lovely views and restaurants. We will definitely return!

Dear Elizabeth79,

Some of the main assets of our residence are very spacious apartments with balconies facing the sea and view over the medieval village of Eze. We are sorry if the temperature of the pool was not at your convenience. It is true that it is not heated, so it depends on the outside temperature and the sun. This is why we only open it during the months of May to September, although the water can still be a bit cool in May, June or again in September depending on the customers’ origin or expectations. We would be glad to welcome you again to Eza Vista in the near future.

“Fantastic apartment!”

Eza Vista

Ljubljana, Slovenia

My husband and I booked a 6 person apartment here for three nights at the end of April as we were travelling with another couple and needed to have two separate bedrooms. We were extremely impressed with the Eza Vista - the apartment was fully equipped with everything we needed and was very clean and comfy. All apartments appeared to have a sea view and balcony.

The location is quite good for visiting both Monaco and Nice - about 10 mins drive to the centre of Monaco and about 30 mins drive to Nice. Eze itself was also a fantastic place to visit - a walk up the hill to the castle is well worthwhile. We tried out two of the local restaurants in Eze as well and both were very good.

All in all this was a fantastic place to stay and great value compared to the cost of hotels in Monaco.
