Our stay at LaSurprise was extremely pleasant partly because of the surroundings but also because of the hospitality of our hosts Steven and Clare. Our room was excellent, the patio and pool area was ideal for relaxing, reading or having a swim. The breakfasts were very good and the facililty of a fridge made life a little easier. A barbecue was available, if needed, and a folder of useful information about the local area was provided. Steven and Clare were always available to provide additional information and suggestions and made everything seem calm and relaxed. If you are going to be in this area I would recommend La Surprise for your stay.

I had the pleasure of staying at La Surprise for 4 nights this August. This B and B was by far the best I have ever stayed in. I would highly recommend it to anyone considering staying along the Cote d'Azure.

The place itself is gorgeous, and beautifully decorated by Clare who has done everything to an amazing standard. The rooms are so pretty, and each one has its own feel. They all have their own entrances, and have large ensuite's attached. It has a lovely aspect, with a view over the Provencale countryside to Chateauneuf. The pool area has a lovely view, and we really enjoyed lazing by the pool for a few mornings.

The really great thing about La Surprise are the hosts, Clare and Steve. Nothing was a problem for them, and they went out of their way to be helpful, and friendly, and make our stay enjoyable. In the morning we were served a wonderful breakfast by the pool in the shade - this was probably my favourite part of the day. There is also a very helpful book that they have put together with recommendations for little excursions and places to eat - all equipped with maps and comprehensive directions. We went on a trip each day, and found this book really helpful.

I can' t really think of anything bad to say about this place, or the hosts. I guess if you are looking for plasma-screen TV's or a full kitchen then this is not the place for you. You also need to have a car, to make the most of this place. If you are looking for a B and B though, this is the best you will find. I can't wait to go back.

We have just returned from this wonderful hideaway in superb location, ideal for sightseeing or just relaxing. We had a tastefully decorated and comfortable room overlooking the private garden and pool.
Our hosts Steve and Clare were very welcoming, helpful and friendly and had a good knowledge of the area and local restaurants. Steve's information pack was fantastic and guided us around the area with ease.
Clare provided a breakfast of fresh fruit, delicious cakes and bread, and selection of jams which we ate in the garden overlooking the hillside, a wonderful start to the day.
Our four days there were not enough and we'd certainly visit again, it's just a great place to stay.

Words cannot express what an amazing and special place La Surprise is, nestled in the hills surronding Grasse we were absolutely delighted with the accommodation and service offered by Clare and Steve. There is a spectacular view from the pool area and the rooms (all in a french shabby chic style) are impeccabley kept. Clare and Steve went out of there way to help us in every way possible- planning our itinery, turning our car round, setting up the Sat nav in the hire car aswell as loaning us their camera!!. nothing was too much trouble.

The positioning of La Surprise is ideal for visits to Grasse, St Paul De Vence, Cannes, Gourdon, Nice and Monte Carlo plus many more. I would highly recommend hiring a car to visit all of these beautiful places.

We will certainly be going back soon I hope!.
