Have stayed in this area on a number of occassions in the past and was certainly not disappointed by "La Surprise".
Holidayed with our youngest child (8 years) and two adult friends who were sampling France for the first time. After 4 nights in Cannes, wanted somewhere to relax and not really do a lot (partly due to the fact that I nearly burnt the clutch out on the hire car so we had to give it a rest for a few days!!).
The rooms were very clean and airy, outdoor kitchen was a must for the barbecue and evenings spent playing scrabble. Views and location are great. The pool is very clean and our son particularly enjoyed the diving board. Breakfast was very nice with home made fruit salad...yummy. Steve & Clare are great hosts and will help and advise with anything. The price of this place is also VERY CHEAP...95 Euros per night, any time of the year which is excellent (including breakfast). Our room had a seperate little room where our sons Z Bed was which made it even more spacious.
Overall: Lovely stay & will definately go back (hopefully for our wedding anniversary in June 2009)

Just come back from staying here and all the previous reviews are so true. This is a gem of a place and I couldn't fault it in any way. The charm of the place is magical and I would suggest that if you are looking for an amazing oasis of calm and beauty and appreciate amazing hostmanship - then look no further. You truly won't be disappointed.

We had a totally brilliant three nights at La Surprise this August - I can't recommend it highly enough.

Steve and Clare are fantastic hosts, providing great advice on places to visit, things to do and restaurants to eat in.

The breakfast is superb and the rooms are comfortable, clean and designed beautifully. We had stunning weather which meant the pool was absolutely brilliant.

If you're looking for a B&B near to Grasse, this is definitely the place to stay. We are planning to return as soon as we can and wished we'd been able to stay longer this year!

We were looking for relaxation in a homely environment with fabulous scenery and short day trips. The location was superb and the accommodation was exactly what we wanted - homely, comfortable, relaxed and private. We were welcomed by our hosts, Steve and Claire, who took every care and attention to ensure our stay was enjoyable and hassle free. The breakfasts were the best part of the day for us - continental delights while sitting in the pool house listening to the birds and soaking up the sun!

The rooms are very tastefully decorated in french style and the bathrooms are very modern and have everything you want. The pool and poolhouse are excellent and you feel like you are staying in your own private villa.

We couldn't fault La Surprise for a relaxing and accommodating home stay / b&b experience!
