First visited the Riviera in April this year and discovered "La Surprise". Loved the area in general and the accomodation in particular so much that I had to return before the season ended. Comfortable beds in spacious and stylish rooms with the facilities in the poolhouse making it more than just a bed & breakfast. Top this with the amazing views and the best breakfasts and you won't want to leave. Having turned up as a guest I felt I left as a friend and will certainly return to visit Claire & Stephen again. If you tire of idyllic mountain top villages there's always the bustle of the Riviera, something for every mood and every type of weather. Highly recommended.

A four day break was what we needed and certainly what we got. This was a return visit for us and it was great not to have to even consider going anywhere else. The hidden location is worth it for the peace, tranquility and wonderful views. Holidays are for a variety of reasons and here you can relax, eat out, shop, beach, mountain view, drive, walk without going far - and wherever you do go, the drive is a picture and brief if you want it to be.
Stephen and Claire are the ideal hosts. Their reccomendations of where to go, how to get there and how long to expect it to take, allow you to make perfect daily plans. That is if you want to leave the B&B.... Every aspect of the establishment gives you assurance because the standards and quality throughout are outstanding. Comfortable beds in stylish bedrooms, classy shower and dressing rooms and right beside a perfect setting, the pool looking out towards the Med. The breakfast is almost too good and is fresh and plentiful. Stirring for the day after tucking in is sometimes hard. The poolhouse is ideal for an evening meal and even if the heavens open, it's plenty cosy enough to want to stay put.

I normally wouldn't stay in a B&B, but after staying in La Surprise I would definitely stay in one again.

The rooms are great and have great character. There is a pool with a nice view. There is a BBQ in the pool house which is great when you don't want to drive somewhere for dinner.

Steven and Claire who run the B&B couldn't be nicer and are willing to provide help and advice if you need it. Claire does a quality breakfast which would fuel you for the rest of the day.

Have stayed in this area on a number of occassions in the past and was certainly not disappointed by "La Surprise".
Holidayed with our youngest child (8 years) and two adult friends who were sampling France for the first time. After 4 nights in Cannes, wanted somewhere to relax and not really do a lot (partly due to the fact that I nearly burnt the clutch out on the hire car so we had to give it a rest for a few days!!).
The rooms were very clean and airy, outdoor kitchen was a must for the barbecue and evenings spent playing scrabble. Views and location are great. The pool is very clean and our son particularly enjoyed the diving board. Breakfast was very nice with home made fruit salad...yummy. Steve & Clare are great hosts and will help and advise with anything. The price of this place is also VERY CHEAP...95 Euros per night, any time of the year which is excellent (including breakfast). Our room had a seperate little room where our sons Z Bed was which made it even more spacious.
Overall: Lovely stay & will definately go back (hopefully for our wedding anniversary in June 2009)
