Stayed here with my wife on trip to watch England play in Marseilles.Seaview rooms good but hotel generally needs an upgrade and a good clean.Got a reasonaable deal with Expedia at £170 a night but there are lots of extras.Parking is 20euros,breakfast is 23 euros, beach loungers are 7-15euros and BBC 1 is 5 euros.Drinks are also expensive at 12euros for a pint of Kronenberg.Unless you are desperate to go to Juan les Pins I would give it a miss and stay further down the coast at Saint Tropez

“le meridian, garden beach hotel”

We read some very poor reviews of this hotel and were fearing the worst. However, we were very surprised as the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a sea view room with a balcony, which was fantastic. The view, overlooking the beach and bay was amazing. The room was very clean, with modern furniture and a very comfortable bed and pillows. The bathroom did need updating, but was spotlessly clean and this did not spoil our stay.

Along with other reviewers, we did find it expensive, with having to pay extra for sat tv and10 euros for the swimming pool/gym (we swam in the sea for free). The restaurant was very good and priced similarly to the restaurants near by, which all seem to be expensive, but the food is of a very high quality. We enjoyed our stay very much and will visit the area again and stay at this hotel again.

“Very pleasantly suprised”

Just got back from 4 night stay at the Meridien Garden Beach-was very sceptical after reading some of the reviews on this website but have to stay we were very pleasantly suprised. Check in was extremely efficient & somewhat better than a lot of the experiences I have had at several hotels in Britain. Staff were very friendly -we had asked for a low floor room as my travelling companion cannot travel in lifts-this was ready & waiting for us-very pleasant rooom with large balcony overlooking beach . As previously documented on this site extras are very expensive at the hotel but only what you would expect in South of France & plenty of shops on the doorstep to buy anything you need much cheaper than hotel. Breakfast was excellent-loads of choice in lovely setting overlooking beach-loved the fact that you then just had few staps down to beach with very reasonably priced sun loungers & parasols.. All in all a very pleasant experience & I would definitely return to this hotel.

“Good but could do better”

Garden Beach Hotel

The Hotel has all the facilities that one would expect of a a four star establishment and we obtained a good rate for the room including breakfast.

Some of the additional costs seemed fair such as parking with valet service for 20 euros/24 hours.

Some of the other charges seemed excessive such as the minibar and alcoholic drinks.

However the description was misleading we overlooked the dustbins and car park entrance which was prtetty aweful in the morning.

The bathroom was needing renovation.

The real annoyance was 5 euros per day for satellite television asl 10 euro per person per door to use the swimming pool.

The service was excellent and all the staff invariably friendly and helpful.

In fact we will return to Juan-les-Pins next year but feel that the Hotel du Parc will be more suited. It is more of a holiday hotel
rather than conferences and we will have a sea view and balcony for much the same price as the room we had at the Garden Beach

“Nightmare in France”

We booked this hotel as part of our honeymoon, we had booked for 4 nights in a sea view room at a cost of €395 per night. The hotel was a complete shambles in our opinion. Reception staff were rude, arrogant and abrupt. The room was small, the bathroom dirty and the overall feel of the hotel was cheap. The door to our room looked as though it had been subject to a break in some time previously and had been filled with something which didn't even match the colour. The room itself was probably comparable to something you might get in an Ibis hotel which if you had paid €50 you would perhaps have been happy with. After we unpacked we returned to reception to ask for our car keys as we had left something. We were asked if we liked our room to which my wife replied no but the receptionist just brushed this aside without even asking why or offering an alternative. We decided the following morning to check out. We were told to pay the full 4 night stay, we refused and said that our paperwork stated that we only had to pay for the one night provided we notified before 6pm. We were asked to prove this, which after eventually finding the room again in this maze of a hotel, we did. They then said we would have to pay one night extra, I refused and asked to see the manager but was told he/she was out. Ha ha that old chestnut. Eventually we got to see some kind of manager who agreed that we should only pay one night considering that my wife was in floods of tears on what was afterall our honeymoon. Not once was an alternative room offered to us. I broke down the cost of the room, €345 for the view and €50 for the room itself because the view was the only agreable factor. A word on the resort, for Juan Les Pins read Blackpool of the South of France. We left this hellhole of a hotel and found a lovely place for half the price in Villefranche. I agree with some people that you should expect to pay more in the South of France but to say this hotel is worth a quarter of what we paid would be an exaggeration. Avoid this hotel at all costs, it's a disgrace, I can only think that positive reviews must have been posted by their own PR staff.
