We book through the Starwood web one night on this hotel , our wishes: one double room smokers & one twin room non smokers (Garden view) Our first surprise on arrival was that the unfriendly staff give us with no comment two twin non smoking rooms despite of our bookings. Due to the late hour (11Pm.) we make no complaint till next morning on check out.
Another bad news were the price of the breakfast (not included) of 23 Euros.¡¡ Very expensive. Also the minibar was overpriced... a bottle of mineral water 6'5 Euros.
However the worst was the room itself. Small , with a very old fashioned bathroom . not very clean and NO BALCONY. Only a horrible window , overlooking the street. The garden publicited in the Starwood web is in reality a public garden far away from our room.
A ripp off
Never again ¡¡

I booked the hotel despite the poor reviews as I am a Gold Card Starwood Group holder and their other hotels have been good.

This hotel is the bad apple in the barrel. On arrival I was offered an upgrade to my room, but I then had to wait 4 hours for it to be made ready, and it was past 4PM before we saw the room. What made this worse was seeing other arrivals being given rooms while we waited in the reception.

Once we got our room, we were very disappointed. The room had scribbles on the walls, the paintwork was chipped and it looked tired.

The biggest problem was the bathroom. There was mould on the tiles and the bathscreen, the enamel on the bath was cracked and flaking, and it looked like it hadn't been updated since the 80's. I took pictures as I had not seen anything like it and certainly not in a hotel that is meant to be rated as 4 stars.

Upon checkout I complained and was told that the bathrooms in the hotel all needed ripping out, but was not offered any apology or refund.

I complained about my late check in and terrible room to Starwood, who initially said sorry but offered no recompense or goodwill gesture. I mentioned that the rooms did not measure up to my expectations of a 4 star hotel and that they were effectively selling them under false pretences.

Starwood came back with a few thousand starwood points for the late check in, but refused to admit to the poor quality room and bathroom.

I sent the photos to them which elicited a few more points, but by now I'd had enough of the poor service given to a Gold Card holder and wanted a full refund.

They ofered me a few thousand more points, the sum total giving me 2 nights low season in one of their hotels. It was too little too late and just not good enough. This was not the servive I was expectingfrom a company misrepresenting their product and selling it to me under false pretences.

Given the very poor service and attitude of Le meridien and the slow and uncooperative Starwood customer service, I feel obliged to share my experience and back it up with the photos of the disgusting bathroom here.

Stayed here with my wife on trip to watch England play in Marseilles.Seaview rooms good but hotel generally needs an upgrade and a good clean.Got a reasonaable deal with Expedia at £170 a night but there are lots of extras.Parking is 20euros,breakfast is 23 euros, beach loungers are 7-15euros and BBC 1 is 5 euros.Drinks are also expensive at 12euros for a pint of Kronenberg.Unless you are desperate to go to Juan les Pins I would give it a miss and stay further down the coast at Saint Tropez

We read some very poor reviews of this hotel and were fearing the worst. However, we were very surprised as the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a sea view room with a balcony, which was fantastic. The view, overlooking the beach and bay was amazing. The room was very clean, with modern furniture and a very comfortable bed and pillows. The bathroom did need updating, but was spotlessly clean and this did not spoil our stay.

Along with other reviewers, we did find it expensive, with having to pay extra for sat tv and10 euros for the swimming pool/gym (we swam in the sea for free). The restaurant was very good and priced similarly to the restaurants near by, which all seem to be expensive, but the food is of a very high quality. We enjoyed our stay very much and will visit the area again and stay at this hotel again.

“Very pleasantly suprised”

Just got back from 4 night stay at the Meridien Garden Beach-was very sceptical after reading some of the reviews on this website but have to stay we were very pleasantly suprised. Check in was extremely efficient & somewhat better than a lot of the experiences I have had at several hotels in Britain. Staff were very friendly -we had asked for a low floor room as my travelling companion cannot travel in lifts-this was ready & waiting for us-very pleasant rooom with large balcony overlooking beach . As previously documented on this site extras are very expensive at the hotel but only what you would expect in South of France & plenty of shops on the doorstep to buy anything you need much cheaper than hotel. Breakfast was excellent-loads of choice in lovely setting overlooking beach-loved the fact that you then just had few staps down to beach with very reasonably priced sun loungers & parasols.. All in all a very pleasant experience & I would definitely return to this hotel.
