Chosen this hotel according to the reviews on this site...and it is indeed very nice. Very clean and modern rooms. We had a mountain view room, which obviously doesnt have the nice view as the sea view rooms but we weren't in the room a lot anyway.
The room is soundproof from the busy road behind it. The location of the hotel is good and within 10min walking you are in the center...nice walk along the sea.

We took the option of the carpark from the hotel. It's 7,5 Euro's a day and you are safely parked underground. Along the street there are free spots anyway but think in july and august that would be different.

We did not take the breakfast in the hotel and that worked out perfect. There are loads of lovely little bakeries in town where you can pick all kind of sandwiches and crossaints. You'll spend only 10 euro for two and is very nice.

We also took our lunch at "the boss" just down the road from the hotel..again thanks to this site..indeed very nice food and reasonable price...can recommend the "big boss" omelet!

The sun terrace on the roof is nice. Guess there are around 10 chairs. The only downside is that the jacuzzi is underneath a roof...and that's straight away the only negative thing i can find about this hotel...

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel booking directly with the hotel via email. Danielle and Phillipe Caravelli and all the staff make it a lovely friendly place to stay. On arriving this year we found a lovely card and gift in our room welcoming us back - a very nice touch we thought. There is an excellent choice of continental breakfast which sets you up for lovely long strolls along the Promenade du Soleil. The walk along to the Italien border is fantastic and it's great to see the locals swimming in the sea in March!!! The rooftop garden is very relaxing and we have been lucky to catch the sun last April and this March. We had a beautiful sea facing room and we are hoping to return later this year. Definately worth a visit.

I found Hotel Princess & Richmond on the internet. Initially I found very little information on them, but decided to take a chance anyway after several email correspondances with Danielle Caravelle, one of the proprietors.

The last weekend of the Lemon Festival was going on when we arrived, and the staff was kind enough to purchase 2 tickets for us before our arrival. We reimbursed them of course, but it was nice to receive them as soon as we arrived.

The hotel was spotless, our room was a very decent size (even compared to USA standards) with queen-sized bed, desk, wicker love seat and coffee table. The bed very comfortable. The bathroom was very nice with a good blow-dryer, though as usual, no shower curtain.

We had a nice sized balcony, but it was a little too cool to be able to make really good use of it. Our only frustration was not being able to adjust the temperature in our room. It was rather warm, so we finally we're able to turn the system off and leave the balconey door open a bit.

Again, if we get a chance to return to Menton, I will certainly return to this hotel.

If you need a light snack, or enjoy crepes and omelets - definitely stop in at the "Big Boss" which is just 2 doors down and one of the few restaurants in Menton that served food all day.

Be sure to check out their rooftop webcam overlooking the bay if you're going for a visit. (-)princess-richmond(-)

Good location - about 15 minute stroll along the promenade to old town and harbour, passing many restaurants along the way. We had double room with mountain/town view. Good sized room with safe, mini-bar, air con, tv, large bathroom and separate toilet. We took the room only option at 92 Euros per night (per room) which we thought was good value for July. Breakfast/evening meal options available. Staff fantastic - friendly, helpful and spoke great English. Very easy to book online or by telephone as they are very efficient. Lots of nice touches to make you feel at home. Roof top spa and terrace available but we didn't use it. Highly recommended.
