my wife and I stayed here for 3 weeks, probably longer than most people. (We don't drive but took train and bus day-tours up and down the coast. Lots of French people were staying at the hotel so while it catered to tourists standards met the national norm for a 3 star place. Everyone was friendly and helpful and cleanliness excellent. We didn't try the hotel restaurant but it looked to be thriving. Location was central with easy access to stations (a main factor for a car-less duo).
Also, at the start we were apprehensive when we saw a tour bus disembarking (it happened at least once a week) - fear of noisy nights with people visiting back and forth between rooms. But it turned out to be one of the quietist hotels we have stayed at (we were on the 5th floor; lower down scooters buzzing by early might distress late risers). Solid concrete structure must account for the internal quietness.
We never had a bad moment and can recommend the Mediterranee to anyone wanting a smooth-functioning hotel and doesn't expect 5 star amenities at a 3 star property.
